Congratulations to Justin Berg (a 2019 grad!) for securing a cert grant in a pro bono case. Condolences that, I'm guessing, someone let him know his client's petition had been granted & he must have been 75% sure it was some partner's idea of a sick joke.

Sometimes I get depressed about the state of 🇺🇸 soccer but then I learn that there’s a 4th div team named the Twin City Toucans (they play in Bryan, TX obviously) that plays their games at a stadium named EDIBLE FIELD and whose mascot is (for now) “nameless toucan with 6 pack”

I can't entirely remember but yeah I think it was something like:
1. Nodding.
2. Figure out what these people mean when they say "CIT."
3. Use "CIT" in a sentence.
4. Casually follow up w/ senior associate to suss out what I am supposed to do.

My understanding is that J. Clifford Wallace is the longest serving federal court of appeals judge. Appointed to the 9th Circuit by Nixon in 1972, he's now 96. Here he is recently speaking on the occasion of getting an honorary degree from BYU. Amazing.

Every judge in the nation would be justified in imposing 24 hour deadlines on DOJ for all filings as long as this is their position.
JUST IN: In newly unsealed filings, an ICE official indicates that the government considers 24 hours to be a reasonable amount of time for an Alien Enemies Act deportee file a habeas claim before removal.
