Account primarily interested in law. Man behind the account primarily interested in being a dad and disciple of Jesus Christ.
Always helpful to have several dozen reminders that it is in fact Tuesday.

Yes. More than one thing can be true. It wasn’t a good paper by academic standards and was intended more to make a statement than to fulfill grading criteria. Also - it didn’t deserve a 0, and giving it a 0 was an inappropriate response that gives credence to the student‘s “I’m being repressed” cry.

Allosaurus never saw flowers—
only ferns in the hush of dawn,
steam lifting from the ground
like a secret kept to the earth.

Yet I like to think that if it had,
if a single bloom had dared the age of thunder,
it might’ve paused,
tilted its terrible head,
& for 1 quiet second,
forgotten to roar.

The rubric was reported by the school paper. There was room to give points for doing something while still docking enough to teach the professional aspects of the class. The 0 feels like taking the bait. drive.google.com/file/d/1vgjT...

Paper was poorly written and certainly offensive to many (and heralded as brave by many others). I think instructors’ biggest mistake was giving a 0. She read the paper, attempted to engage. Dock her like crazy on the rigorous portion of this. But giving her a 0 invites more culture warsy attention.

Which, if you want to do civil disobedience, there’s a long tradition of that.

But just remember to not be shocked when civil disobedience results in jail time. That’s the the big asterisk on civil disobedience.

So maybe you’ve had a bad roll of the dice on BYU fans. Because a lot of them are doing a lot of good.

Sorry you've had a bad experience. BYU Fan base goes out of its way to create positive experiences for their opponents. Like donating the most food ever to Cincinnati’s food pantry prior to this most recent game.

Is there something Home Depot has done to facilitate the raids? Why the protest against Home Depot?

Yes. Exactly. The lack of independent verification means it is almost certainly rage bait.

MJS is generally credible. The source has has linked to, however, does not have the credibility that MJS has built up.

There are plenty of reasons to be extremely dubious of this reporting.

This seems like an incredibly dubious news source, but I see really smart people sharing it without any sort of hesitation or caution.

This is the kind of plan any major outlet would front page. The author allegedly has three sources from across the country, yet is the only one reporting on it. Perhaps they scooped. But without additional reporting, more likely this is fabricated rage bait.

Interesting. I have the exact opposite policy goals. I think it’s better to facilitate a parent staying home with a child, not make it more difficult.
November 17, 2025 at 2:04 AM
What policy goal is this meant to achieve? Discourage parents (usually women) from staying home with children and encourage them to work instead?

It is akin to “this is not a tax” on the individual mandate. Sometimes the court just wants to pretend Presidents don’t mean what they say.
