Labour continues to pledge to cut the disability benefits bill, despite a High Court ruling which found that the previous government's consultation into the plans was unlawful. In light of these findings how can we possibly allow that to happen?

These are shocking finding’s from @jrf-uk.bsky.social:

• 88% of low-income households who receive disability benefits were going without the essentials in the 6 months to Oct

• 59% had to take out a loan to cover the cost of essentials

• 53% were in arrears

Any cuts would be devastating

Currently, those who miscarry before 24 weeks have to take 'sick leave' to grieve the loss of their baby.

This isn’t right and it’s time the law caught up. The @commonswomequ.parliament.uk's miscarriage bereavement leave report covers the overwhelming case for statutory leave.

Finally. Ceasefire. So many feelings. Still can’t quite believe it. We’d been so close before. But also why did it take so long. Thousands of innocents dead. So much devastation. Let’s hope this lasts and the bombs don’t start again.

The announcement of a ceasefire is, at last, a moment of hope after many months of darkness and despair for the region.

President Biden says that Palestinians will be able to return to their homes "in all areas of Gaza" following his ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas.

There will also be an influx of humanitarian aid.

Thank you, POTUS!

If you’re upset about Michelle Obama’s decision not to attend Donald Trump’s inauguration, wait until I tell you about the time Donald Trump refused to accept the results of the election he lost, plotted a coup & incited an insurrection before deciding not to attend Joe Biden’s.

My heart is broken. Mostly I've been angry lately, but today I'm just very very sad.

We are losing everything that makes America great and replacing it with hate and stupidity.

The America I know and love will never be the same.

I'm so very very sad. This is a tragic loss.

Let’s not kid ourselves. Donald Trump is a threat to peace and prosperity around the world.

The UK will not be able to depend on the US to be a reliable partner on security, defence or the economy.

How do we deal with Donald Trump? We need to do it from a position of strength.

He argues it is needed to boost Britain's economy and its ability to deal with the incoming Donald Trump presidency from a position of strength👏
