Looks like their plan to boost productivity by ushering everyone back to the office in an ongoing pandemic didn't play out as expected

Excellent public health messaging from New York City!!

Be the happy peace sign waving emoji instead of the sick and sniffling emoji.

How can you do that?

Wear a mask! Ideally a respirator like an N95.

It’ll help keep you and your community safe.

Rudolph the Red-Nosed reindeer was a black sheep because of something on his face that stood out. So when people give you a hard time over the mask on your face, just remember that Rudolph saved Christmas and you’re a badass motherfucker too, out there saving lives and shit. 😷❤️

Halloween Magic: How an Ancient Tradition Reminds Us That Yes, People Will Mask to Feel Safe
Halloween is fast approaching. Everyone, everywhere, is sipping pumpkin spice lattes, carving jack o’lanterns, bingeing on fun size candy (gone in one bite, what’s fun about that?) and buying up the ...

Stop what you’re doing and read this💡
A hard truth is that the search for artificial general intelligence as a commercial tool is fundamentally a reproduction of slavery. Not because computers are people or anything so silly, but because of the impetus: To acquire the products of humanity without the need for a human to consent.

I remember life before the Tech Bros ruined it; it was grand.

The pandemic has, and continues to have, significant effects on global politics. I am certain that in the future entire books will be written on this subject, but these effects can be distilled to one concept: the vast majority of people have normalised that which is abnormal.

But remember — it was “mild for children” 🙃

By tern

Just think about it.

Seriously.

They told you that covid infection would not harm children, and now long covid is the *most common chronic illness in children*.

People continue to call COVID advocates’ pleas for masking “unreasonable”.

Yet people who’ve already been disabled by COVID have no choice but to live with the “unreasonable” burdens of constant COVID safety.

Beyond all reason
Long COVID patients are constantly harangued about our requests for COVID safety. Yet what we're asking for is far less than what we're called on to do to survive.

Years ago, scientists warned us that Covid would create an "unfathomable" crisis of longterm illness that included diseases not typically diagnosed as "Long Covid." Now a fight over exploding healthcare costs has shut down the government. These two things are connected.
