Really chilling to watch Libs of Tiktok become the governing strategy of the Republican Party
A professor at Texas A&M taught… something related to gender that offended a student, who secretly filmed herself objecting. That video is picked up by TX legislators, who demand her firing, and now the dean and dept head have been fired.

A&M Dean removed following student complaints over curriculum
The Department of Justice has also acknowledged the situation and said it would be investigating.

I really like the QAA podcast but it's really difficult to listen to where people walk in at different times & you're just listening to an excerpt from a nutjob. Or you're using power tools & when you stop suddenly there's Tucker Carlson talking about cum.

GAAP is simply one step on humanity's long quest for the perfect accounting standards. From recording wheat in the ziggurat, to XLOOKUP, human progress is driven towards our true purpose of counting stuff
capitalism's two greatest inventions are insurance and GAAP
How do we design a system robust enough to not just to mitigate the individual instances of people acting in bad faith, but stop motivating it all together (beyond just relying on the fact that most of us try to act in good faith)

civil forfeiture is one of the loudest reminders that policing in the US comes from chattel slavery. your body doesn't belong to you, nor does your home or your actual property. not the money you work to make.
Despite knowing the people on the search warrant weren't there, the ICE arrest team STILL took this family's phones, laptops, and life savings — and refused to leave a BUSINESS CARD so they could ask to get it back!

This stuff is sadly not unique to ICE; it happens with regular police raids too.

Please highlight this story.

ICE stormed into the wrong house, trashed the place, and made women/girls stand outside in the rain in their underwear. ICE also stole phones, laptops, and cash savings from the family, who moved to OKC two weeks ago.

The most notable thing about Pope Francis to me is that the worst people in Christendom hated him almost universally. I can think of no more ringing endorsement of a person's character than that. For the sake of the world, I pray that the next Pope will similarly defy humanity's worst impulses.

I honestly can’t stop thinking about this RFK speech. A lot of the outrage around it is focused on pointing out that it’s not true.

But so fucking what if it was? Do people whose bodies don’t work not deserve to exist in society? If all these things were true for a person are they less worthy?
