Are Pasties (the pie) not common in other areas of the USA that have a lot of English or Irish descendants? I can't say they're common as restaurant items here (mi) but like churches do fundraisers selling traditional pasties for people to stock up in freezers.

I set a date for my housewarming party so now I have to actually get my house in order (by Dec 13th). I have almost a full month! And I'm going to need every single day of it I'm sure. 😅

The pattern I'm using for the frog ornaments is based on desert rain frogs & they're just so perfect & round I don't think I can get my felt ones as round as the real life ones.

I routinely brown butter when I'm making rice crispy treats but I saw a recipe on Insta that suggested toasting the cereal too & I'm going to try that immediately!!

Romance should evolve, but its so clear when people want the shine and financial benefit of Romance without respecting the genre, its conventions, or the readers. It's disturbing, but not surprising that we've arrived in a place where CRAFT DOESNT MATTER is a thing people believe.

I keep seeing these videos (on Insta) of a guy who has a tiny weasel as a pet & it seems equally nightmarish & SO cute. It's like 5" long and it could definitely fuck up your whole house.

Anyway, my point is that nobody shares the good recipes with shortening in them anymore. I guess it's old-fashioned and bad for you, but there's truly nothing like it in baking imo.

My cousin shared with me this recipe (which I haven't tried yet) & he immediately was like, "I think I'm gonna try to substitute the shortening with coconut oil" & I had to stop him right there & say "NO. That's not the same as shortening and they won't turn out the same!"

When you use software that crashes a lot you end up developing a lot of arcane rituals that may or may not prevent the crashes. I believe in my spells against constant resetting of my programs 🙏🕯️🤞
