I really enjoyed John Scalzi's "When the Moon Hits Your Eye." It treats the absurd premise very seriously (albeit with lots of quippy characters and cheese puns).

We got several kid-friendly games for Christmas. Sleeping Queens was the universal favorite. Gameplay was quick but eventful. Grownups were laughing and enjoying the silliness and creativity of the nobility. Elementary aged kid got to flex his math skills and the prek kid got to steal the cat queen.
