Went out tonight for a meal (instead of last night) and a couple of beers. Chatted to a woman at the bar who’s birthday it was - she was a forensic scientist. I asked her what qualifications were needed for that job. She said “forensic science degree”.

Just to be clear, life up here is hard. The day/night cycle is broken, the water is toxic, the power supply is fractious, the snow is aggressive, the bears are huge, housing is at crisis point and the hospital is under equipped.
It's also fucking magical and I wouldn't change it for the world.

Do you know what I really appreciate about life up here? Socially, it's super safe. I can jog alone in the darkness with my headphones in, or walk home from the bar alone with my phone out, and never feel unsafe for a moment.
(The trade off for that is the bears, but that's a different problem)

But, I started referring to *myself* as Ace at 37ish, and Aro & Enby around 44/45. The latter period during the Pandemic, yes ... :D
