One day I will remember to buy some waterproof cycling trousers at a helpful time I.e. not when I’m facing an extremely soggy imminent commute 🤦🏻‍♀️

Good news. Minimal thoracic shoulder issues yesterday and woken up with it feeling pretty much normal today - big contrast to last week. Looks like belly breathing is part of the way forward. I’m curious if other runners breathe like this and if you had to train yourselves to do it

A friend of mine is running the Arc of Attrition today. I’ve walked quite a lot of that coastline and watching the dot moving along my legs are wincing in sympathy. Massive respect to anyone who does that kind of thing 👊

Today’s #parkrun was a gentle Jeff round the Forest of Dean. Focused on my breathing after some advice that belly breathing would be better on my shoulder, seems to have helped. Nice course, one to come back to when I can run again. Good to be on trails 💜

happy #parkrunday - an earlyish start for us as we're heading over to the Forest of Dean for some local #parkruntourism. If I have to walk it, I'd rather go and find somewhere pretty! Teen is coming too as he likes a hike but not a run 😍 #parkrun

Happy #parkrunday! Managed to Jeff round my local in just over 40min. Lap 3 was hard - seeing people I usually finish near going into the finish funnel while I had one more lap to go! But my shoulder feels ok, and taking it steady is more important. Was good just to get out and do it 😎 #parkrun

Have not been on here much lately. Partly there’s so much awful in the news and I need to see less of it - I need to curate my feed a bit I think. Partly I’m not running and having serious FOMO seeing everyone else on here’s activities - but my shoulder is improving and I can Jeff a little ☺️

Picture books are reading.
There is no single way to read, nor is any reading style more worthy than another.

Happy #caturday, may all cats find somewhere as cosy as Harry’s radiator spot to keep warm today 🐈

Happy #parkrunday. No running for me until my shoulder is better so I’ve done the first timers briefing and then barcode scanning at King George V in Cheltenham. With many layers on as it is chuffing freezing 🥶 #parkrun

Shoulder still not up to a run but we did manage a gorgeous walk in the snow today #uksnow (Cleeve Hill)

Last year I re-read the entire Discworld series in order. This year I did Rivers of London. Taking suggestions for 2026 (doesn’t have to be fantasy or this many, does need to be a continuous narrative) #booksky

weather forecast has possible snow for us later in the week. One day I may be old enough not to be excited by the prospect of snow. But not this day ❄️

Written by the father of a trans girl…

“When society tries to police and exclude trans girls, it ends up policing all girls.

Because transmisogyny does not just say, “Trans girls aren’t real girls.” It also says, “There is only one correct way to be a girl.””
Why the War on Trans Girls Is a War on Girlhood
Excluding trans girls is controlling who can be girls, and who can't, further dividing children and causing harm

You don't know what day it is.
You're eating countless meals a day with lots of snacks in between.
You're napping throughout they day.
Either it's the time between Christmas and New Year or you're a cat.

Happy Christmas everyone, whether you’re celebrating, chilling or just not into it, I hope you have the day you want. Much love, peace and joy to you all xx

Happy extra #parkrun day to those who celebrate. I went, and made it round only walking the bits where it was so busy there was no choice. Crazy busy but saw so many people I know. Really glad I got to do this today. Special thanks to anyone who volunteered at their local event x

Popped into town for a Christmas stroll. It was surprisingly not super busy, and quite cheery. Also saw this fabulous progress #pride flag patchwork quilt in our local haberdashery shop 🌈
