Nobody wants to be an informed consumer of health insurance. They want to pay an affordable price and not have to think about it
Cassidy: "The president is proposing that we take the $26b that would be going to insurance companies if we just do an extension and give it directly to the American people in which 100% of the money is used for them to purchase healthcare on their own terms. That makes them an informed consumer."

now that this is public I can confirm that the majority of today’s layoffs were women of color. there are no longer any Black women working at Teen Vogue.

One underrated aspect of Zohran is that he always wears a suit, always presents himself professionally while still doing fun and approachable retail politics. You don’t have to drape yourself yourself in hypebeast and post thirst traps, you can be fucking grown up respecting the office and be fun

yes yes yes to all of this. material politics is the way forward and that doesn’t mean slogans it means the very difficult work of being a real presence in the lives of the people who you want to trust you.
It doesn’t matter what I think. Also, none of this would ever happen. But if I had a zillion dollars:

1. Run a “we do hard things” campaign across southern and rust belt states. Invest heavily in local, state and regional social infrastructure. Sponser later hours at a library, build a skate park…
If I were to sum up my advice to the Democratic party leadership about how to defeat Trumpism, it would be to set aside policy for now and focus instead on articulating a vision of what American society should look like and what role the US should play in a rapidly changing world today.

No student should go hungry. Yet Congress cut funding for critical food programs our students rely on.

We need representatives who put our children first.

Prop 50 holds them accountable and helps us fight back for our students and communities.

Now, our favorite policy nerd is leading the way on housing. (And I’ve gotten better at video editing 😅)

Anyway, you should sign up for housing policy updates: bit.ly/TordillosHousing
This week, the San José City Council took the first step towards a policy I’ve been fighting for since I was a planning commissioner.

We gathered downtown to say it loud and clear: in this country, we have #NoKings!

We have to be persistent to see things through. To protect our community from Trump’s budget cuts by voting Yes on Measure A. To take back the House by voting Yes on 50. And to kick him out of the White House in 2028!
