This is insane. If you wonder why some of us think the rule of law is about to fall, it's this.

The U.S. Attorney for DC is not "President Trump's lawyer" and its job is not to "protect his leadership" nor prosecute people who "refuse to put America first".

Normalizing cruelty... I can see how that happens. And it makes some inexplicable actions make sense.
As historian Ruth Ben-Ghiat writes, authoritarians normalize cruelty to divide and conquer. “Freeing people from the idea that they should respect others as individuals with dignity and autonomy is part of the agenda.”

It may not be cool or hip in some circles, but we legitimately do need a massive amount of people to run for office.

Flood the school boards, councils, county seats, state legislatures, Congress, etc.

Big changes at the top happen when the ground shifts at the bottom. And that can start now.

It is perfectly legal to know your rights and to educate others about them, too.

EVERYONE in the United States, citizen or not, has rights. I will not allow this administration to intimidate us from helping you know about them.

DOJ leadership has put all Public Integrity Section lawyers into a room with 1 hour to decide who will dismiss Adams indictment or else all will be fired. Sending them strength to stand by their oath, which is to support the Constitution, not the president’s political agenda. 🇺🇸

"Let’s start with a dogma from the ad business: Fifty percent of brand advertising works. The problem is that no one knows which fifty percent. This statement is self-evidently true. It also happens to describe the paradox of 'government efficiency.'"

DOGE isn’t about “efficiency.” It’s about vandalism.

Why Abdullah agreed to do the presser is a mystery. I’m sure there was heavy pressure to do it, but still. A disaster for the King.
While meeting with the King of Jordan and a visibly uncomfortable Rubio today, Trump now changes his position from yesterday and says the US is not going to buy Gaza, we are just going to take it: “We’re gonna take it, we’re gonna hold it, we’re gonna cherish it.”

Approps Chair Collins voted for Vought but told @pressherald.bsky.social he might lose a lawsuit 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼:

“I do intend to support his nomination...If there are impoundments, I believe it will end up in court, and my hope is the court will rule in favor of the 1974 impoundment and budget control act"

This is why 1930s Germany is not the best analogy.

1920s America has more parallels.

But America whitewashed post-reconstruction history and how dark and bloody that time was for Black Americans.

Now here we are.
I still struggle to understand this in a lot of ways. Obama and black people demanding a modicum of respect breaking the minds of the worst elements of our society is still so crazy to me. People were killed for this like its the 1920s!

Think back to your high school history classes. Just how much time did your teachers spend on teaching any of the US history between the Civil War and WW2?

If it wasn't much, there's a reason for that.

And now he wants the US to take over Gaza, send 1.8 million people somewhere else. Wonder why.

This is ethnic cleansing and a crime against humanity.

For all who voted for trump or stayed home because of Biden and Harris' position on Gaza, you should have listened. We told you this was coming.
