Rewatching Deep Space 9 a lot this month. Mostly seasons 1 and 2 and its never been lost on me that the Cardassians are cartoonishly evil, but now im considering the fact that they didn’t HAVE to enslave a whole planet just to work mines. They could’ve used technology for that. They just wanted to.
