Xbox made the certification documents public (this is it takes to ship/pass the checklist/QA to launch a game on Xbox) for everyone; and Nintendo/PS should consider the same. There are a lot of things that if were common knowledge would save hours/money to everyone. developer.microsoft.... #gamedev

Delighted that I got a chance to talk computational thinking as well as AI impacts in education with the Maine K12 community at #CSSummerofFun2025 this week. Thanks to MMSA and Educate Maine for a fantastic event and @hussonu.bsky.social for a wonderful venue!

It was a little disappointing (but understandable) that we could not get together in-person, but I still got a ton out of the virtual summit this week. If you get a chance to watch the videos, you should!

The 2025 #NCWITsummit featured insights from the 2025 recipient of the Pioneer in Tech, Dr. Valerie L. Thomas, and learning nature-inspired resilience practices from Astrobiofuturist, Billy Almon!

We are thankful for everyone who joined us virtually!

Given the literal definition of deportation is removing a foreigner or noncitizen from the country, we - journalists, media orgs - should probably all stop referring to the ‘deportation’ of a 2 year old US citizen. It’s NOT a deportation.

I’m not sure what it is. A kidnapping?

I’m proud of two things this year at #SIGCSE25 - first, a best paper award for my paper with Khoury College colleagues on outcomes from our bridge program. Second, and most importantly, the ACM BPC award for my colleague Jonathan Mwaura and his internationally focused inclusion work.

Trump's removal of trans references from the Stonewall Monument website isn't just another culture war battle; it's actual government censorship.

And from a happy note to a frustrating one. Learning just now that one of my colleagues had their State Department funding pulled to do important outreach and broadening participation work in east Africa. How can this country continue to lead from behind?

There is no ethical use of AI, especially not for marginalized students in historically marginalized communities whose neighborhoods will undoubtedly be negatively impacted.
AI data centers are multiplying across the U.S. and sucking up huge amounts of power.

New evidence shows they may also be distorting the normal flow of electricity for millions of Americans

There’s a strong link between proximity to AI data centers and higher levels of distorted power in residential areas
