reading backwards through all the big superhero comics as an adult is deeply rewarding because so much of it is schlock but then you learn about something like Tim Sale's art for batman and spend the next week of your life thinking about it

That people seriously ask for a safe neighborhood on Reddit when moving somewhere is funny to me but the advice they get about what is safe is so detached from reality that I have to imagine a lot of suburbanites are glued to true crime reporting 24/7

There is no America without these cities. It is a joke. It would be a shell game of ponzi schemes collapsing. And yet we let them piss and shit on their names, day in and day out, because the prosperity of our cities have allowed them to grow fat, resentful, and delusional of their own dependence.

Sometimes there isn't a huge amount to a story, like the announcement that Stray Children (the new Onion Games RPG) is out in English soonish.

So I get to do stuff like ramble about the importance of 'anti-RPG' Moon, Love-de-Lic and their legacy.

Also shoutouts to @maraganger.bsky.social

Huh, interesting. GOG have done a standalone repack for Fallout London, along with some other major mods like Doom 3: Phobos.

You need to own the base game there, but you can then just download and play the mod as if it were just a regular retail title.

these rpgs about solving problems in your hometown are plenty cute and nice but can we get one that's a staggeringly uneven mix between planescape torment and inherent vice set in the malaise of 1970's europe starring a cop who reeks like a trash fire

Seeing a growing number of people tired of wrestling with the eldritch octopus of emuation that is Retroarch.

Don't mistake a glossy UI for usability. It's a mess.

For general usage, Bizhawk covers most systems while also being small and easy to use. A simple, clean window that plays old games.

Few games are as refined in their badness as The Demon Rush remake.

A true passion project years in the making, currently on its third expansion and with another one planned, and it's still somehow worse than the already-awful original game.

It is dizzying to just experience it. Magical trash.

A good, workhorse building we should build more of: Either 12 units for singles or 6 family-sized units. Everyone gets a balcony. Easily fits on a standard 5,000 square-foot lot. Fits around six parking spaces in the back. And yet, illegal to build in the typical US residential neighborhood.

that terrible episode was very instructive for me as someone who hangs out with communists online all day for articulating this. it hinges on the overwhelming emotional cruelty of how evil it was for lockdowns to force a woman to die alone, but does not question why she's dying in the first place

This is incredibly bad. Also several Adventure Time games have been delisted too. No warning, no final discounts. Just Zaslav deleting stuff from existence for no good reason.

Apparently the developers weren't informed or warned either.
Cartoon Network Games published titles are getting delisted from Steam

So far includes:
-OK K.O.! Let’s Play Heroes
-Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time (Adult Swim)
-Steven Universe: Save the Light
