A project I cleared my schedule for is taking some time to get off the ground, so I’m once again open for contract work. Need a writer/editor/localizer? Let me make your women angrier and your bisexuals more chaotic.

“Your writing would make Lovecraft want to kill himself”
What is the best compliment you ever received? Putting aside whether or not you believed it.

Nothing says holiday cheer like my cyberpunk detective fighting a crime twink made of Shadows short story
As you’re doing holiday shopping, consider Amplitudes!

I’m proud of this project, and all our contributors—folks from more than 6 countries, each bringing unique perspectives and stories about queer/trans futurity, community, and survival even or especially through difficult times—did amazing work.
For #transawarenessweek, a bump for Amplitudes: Stories of Queer and Trans Futurity!

Featuring contributors from across the globe, including both familiar and fresh voices, it gathers 22 speculative stories about queer and trans futures—and I hope at least one of them will hit for you 🖤

What’s your favorite video game musical number. For me it’s a tie between Herald of Darkness in Alan Wake 2 and Junebug’s concert in Kentucky Route Zero

Even really good AAA games tend to have boring art direction, just from the nature of what they’re trying to do, but god damn does the presentation of Remedy’s games knock me out. Every frame a painting

In general, queer games have had a lot of trouble on steam. There’s a bunch of anime titty porn games but anything dealing with themes of exploitation and abuse with any sort of queer coding get axed. It’s an obvious double standard, they ain’t slick.

I don’t think this is controversial!! What are they going to do, play the game and watch the credits just to catch you in a lie? I doubt it
My controversial take is that if you didn't get credited on a game you have proof you've worked on, just list it on your CV.

I do with one. Never had any issues.

Not being credited still sucks but you don't need to be polite when they're not.

three people buying a book we didn't really have on our radar at my old bookstore was instant "order more, face it out, somebody on staff read it and write a talker for it" territory
I once asked a bookseller at a large indie store how many people would have to buy a book for it to get the attention of the store buyer and cause an additional order and they said: Three.
I see some book piracy discourse, and, to make a positive argument in favor of buying books, your marginal ability to influence what books get published and support the careers of writers you like is massive compared to most other forms of media.

This is fucking wild
Our upcoming game HORSES was preemptively banned from Steam, with no path to appeal. The game will still launch next week on December 2nd and will be available on EGS, GOG, Humble, and Itch for $4.99. Here is a detailed FAQ covering what happened: horses.wtf/BannedFromSt...

It’s FrankenTIME!!

Workers’ Lit joins Victor Frankenstein, making up a guy to get mad at, getting depressed, and ranting about God and science or whatever.

Mary Shelley was ON FIRE with this one.

It’s 1818’s “Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus.”

I really liked rogue one the first time I watched it, like it just seemed really complex and interesting for a modern Star Wars movie. And then I watched it again after watching Andor and Andor is just…. so much better lol

this is actually a really good list tbh. i haven't seen Solo but this would probably be my exact ranking
haven’t seen ROS or Solo but this seems like a pretty ball-knowing list from Pritzker, particularly if he volunteered the name “Star Wars” rather than “A New Hope”

I know a lot of people say Hannibal falls off in season 3 but it’s my fave. It cranks up all my favorite parts of Hannibal: the camp, the dream logic, the music made by a guy throwing a xylophone down a set of stairs

when people are like "x media is good but the dialogue is overwrought" i'm like dude my favorite show is Hannibal where in the first episode one guy asks another guy "what do you see me as" and he responds "i think you are the mongoose i want under the house when the snakes slither by"

if you're one of those people who think they can't get into literary fiction, i recommend The Secret History. it's about a group of classics students who murder one of their friends (that's not a spoiler, the speaker tells you about it on the first page) and it totally riveted me the whole time
