Immunology, technology, clinical microsampling | Researcher at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, CEO at Cytodelics

Trying to improve microsampling technology for immune analysis, decentralizing clinical trials.
Pinned
Introductory post! I'm an immunologist who recently transitioned into developing engineering solutions for clinical microsampling. My main interests are population studies in human systems immunology and ways to simplify them.

If this interests you, give me a follow or send me a message!
In exploratory omics studies in humans, it is quite common to evaluate the prediction accuracy of demographic variables like age and sex using the omics variables.

In what situation would you actually need to do this? Isn't there some more natural statistical framework that makes more sense? 1/2

75% is insane. Government loans for scientific funding would be a crazy good investment for countries that can afford it.

The massive changes in US research brought about by the new administration of President Donald Trump are causing many scientists in the country to rethink their lives and careers

The best thing Americans can do right now is minimizing domestic spending and donating to Ukraine: u24.gov.ua

Europeans should also donate more, stop buying american, invest in EU defense stocks, and pressure their governments to donate more and ramp up defense spending.

Today, the US stood with Russia and North Korea — and against our allies — in voting against a UN resolution to condemn Russia's aggression against Ukraine. Let that sink in.

This is a betrayal of the Ukrainian people, our allies, our interests and those who aspire for freedom.

Elon Musk literally just verified the account 'Adolf Hitler' as an official government account on his website.

It is time for EU to block it, just like they blocked the website of the russian state-sponsored media channel RT. It is the source of so much misinformation.

This rate of validation suggests that antibodies should be considered non-specific until proven otherwise:

357 validated out of 1,124 tested.

Here's our latest work on proteome profiling of self-sampled dried blood spots to gain insights into the heterogeneity of the immune response against infections and vaccinations. We enrolled random citizens by postal mail to learn more about the molecular effects beyond those seeking medical care.

Not checking nuclear markers like MALAT1 or intronic reads in your scRNA-seq data?🚨
We show their power to flag low-quality cells—even in top public datasets. It’s time to prioritize better QC for cleaner, more reliable genomics research!

High content of nuclei-free low-quality cells in reference single-cell atlases: a call for more stringent quality control using nuclear fraction - BMC Genomics
The advent of droplet-based single-cell RNA-sequencing (scRNA-seq) has dramatically increased data throughput, enabling the release of a diverse array of tissue cell atlases to the public. However, we...

I demand that every study that uses fecal samples be renamed from a "gut microbiome" to "fecal microbiome" study, including in the title. Thus, researchers would have to focus on good study design rather than sensationalism. Stool samples are NOT representative for the gut.

These types of solutions look very interesting for scientific publishing: curvenote.com

Producing manuscripts (especially figures) suck due to the poor software available. Reading is an equally terrible experience, having to zoom in on figures and scroll up and down to look at references.

Does anyone have experience in using AI tools dedicated to the research grant writing process and found them useful? I've found a few, but they still seem a bit too general and rudimentary.

Data on the effects of preanalytical factors on single-cell omics are severely lacking (as indicated by the lack of refs in this paper). It is great that this is being investigated for ATACseq and that methods to mitigate it are developed.

I've seen a range of medicine and biomedicine-related starter packs, but has anyone seen some that are more medtech- or medical engineering-related?
