Trying to improve microsampling technology for immune analysis, decentralizing clinical trials.
I understand that a high prediction accuracy reveals some connection between the variables and that it can be used to identify the most strongly associated omics variables.

Still, it feels so backward to me. I don't need to do a bunch of omics to figure out how old I am. 🫠 2/2

My sister was involved in a similar study in ecology. Even with a relatively simple dataset and guided by a research question, results were all over the place and did not correlate with reviewer assessment. I don't have high hopes for exploratory omics studies...

Same data, different analysts: variation in effect sizes due to analytical decisions in ecology and evolutionary biology - BMC Biology
Although variation in effect sizes and predicted values among studies of similar phenomena is inevitable, such variation far exceeds what might be produced by sampling error alone. One possible explan...

As an update, I think the account has now been wiped, but there is plenty of evidence of previous posts online.

I remember thinking about which protein name has the longest fully expanded name. The longest I came up with then was TBK1, equaling:

Tumor necrosis factor receptor-associated factor family member-associated nuclear factor kappa-light-chain-enhancer of activated B cells activator-binding kinase 1

Very cool study! I'm looking forward to seeing results for other pathogens, as you hint at below.

Have you only tried this with adult mice so far? I would be interested to see how this phenomenon relates to age.
