1. Terrifying news for transgender people across the United States. In a late night development, the House Spending Bill was amended to ban transgender coverage for transgender ADULTS on medicaid!

A manager's amendment removed the words "for minors."

I am immediately skeptical of any book and/or author that is deemed 'bestselling'. Especially in self-publishing.

My favorite thing about Internet culture is identifying people solely through their usernames.

Today, I thought, “You know, I should reach out to Cyborg.” Couldn’t even recall their first name.

Totally absurd concept outside of cyberspace.

For the longest time I thought "let them cook" meant "let them *be* cooked" and to be honest, I prefer that usage better.

There's nothing quite as worthless as a Goodreads review that vaguely recaps the plot with no critical insight.

For book covers, know:

1. You'll likely have trouble creating a cover to-market with a PD image (unless you're writing e.g. historical fiction)
2. Typography matters just as much as the artwork itself. Good lettering makes a cover.
3. This is a skill like any. Do commission a book cover if you can.

Why does my dog always look extremely comfortable. Doesn't matter where. She could be lying on hard tile and still look *cozy*.

And of course when I lie down on the same bed it's like I'm sleeping on rocks.

Suffice it to say, I'm jealous.
