Waitlisted for another con this coming year. It’s been rough for so many when applying to cons and I’m no exception.

Applied to: 12
Approved for: 2
Waitlisted/declined: 6
Pending: 4

Waiting on apps to open for ‘26: 11

That is the reality we face as vendors.

Everyone has been very supportive of my break now that chapter 13 is done, but I wanted to send this chapter off properly with a big group image! I already posted this to my site, but I figured I should promote it here too 🙂

Ima Onwugbenu, 22, who likes peace, quiet and solitude, has reportedly inexplicably convinced herself that on this occasion, she will enjoy cramming herself into a sticky box full of sweaty humans and thumping music, to which she will move her body in an approximation of human dancing.
Optimist! Maybe autistic woman will enjoy clubbing this time
An autistic woman who has never once enjoyed any form of noisy, crowded nightlife sincerely believes - for some reason - that she might like it this time, it has been rumoured.  Ima Onwugbenu, 22,…

I was going to wait on selling these, because I feel weird about making money on glass while I still owe commissions, but I'm out of solder and just paid a $550 bill for that, so they're available now! Six stained Glass succulents in little ~3.5"x3" hexagonal pots. Pics/prices below, DM to claim:

Great piece by astronomer and SETI leader Jason Wright on the endless, exhausting claims about 3I/Atlas by Avi Loeb.

Loeb’s 3I/ATLAS “Anomalies” Explained
Avi Loeb continues to claim that 3I/ATLAS has many anomalous behaviors that lead to the conclusion that it “might” be an alien spacecraft.  He carefully hedges the probability that it is a spacecraft ...

Chatbots — LLMs — do not know facts and are not designed to be able to accurately answer factual questions. They are designed to find and mimic patterns of words, probabilistically. When they’re “right” it’s because correct things are often written down, so those patterns are frequent. That’s all.

Sharing my wing tutorial for bluesky people!
It's light and focuses on propatagium, something that I often found missing when working on client designs.

Lastly, check the Alt. text for some commentary. Hope it's helpful!

I’ve set up a recurring donation with mine. Even $5 a month can help a lot—usually way more than we, who don’t buy in bulk, could buy in equivalent.
Feeding America has a page where you can input your zip code and it'll show you all of the food banks near you overlaid on a map. If you need it, it's there. If you don't need it, think about donating money if you have it and your time if you don't.

Filmmaker Guillermo del Toro says 'I'd rather die' than use generative AI
Del Toro's new Frankenstein adaption reimagines Mary Shelley's 1818 Gothic novel. Frankenstein was like a tech bro: "creating something without considering the consequences," he explains.
