I have a similar thing, a big cage with platforms. I also have a flat, pop up enclosure that's made to be cat proof, and it's worked pretty well for the kittens. I'm hoping she can at least recover in it from her spay surgery.

Mouse has her personality almost exactly, and he's been surprising me lately by being really attached to me, but also my cat Abby. So hopefully mama will be similarly affectionate with time.

I have two cameras in my garage to make sure Mama cat is doing okay. She's going into heat again, but it makes her very cute. I've also loaded her attic space with catnip here and there, which she's recently been more interested in. It's good to have hobbies!

Ugh, that's my dream. She's adapted to a routine in the garage, so I think if I keep her in a safe space inside, maybe her very socialized kittens will gradually help her too 😭

I grew up with five! So at least I knew I can fit five cats comfortably into my house lol. But I know from most people's perspective, this is like...way too many goddamn cats 😂

That's my current cat update! I promise it doesn't smell crazy up in here, and I work very hard to maintain that reality 💀

Mama is out in my garage, and currently just in and out of heat because of the warmer space. She's mostly pretty chill. Likes treats and dry food, plays with her toys very cutely, will not eat wet food or pill pocket treats. (Thus, I cannot drug her to catch her boo.) She'll get fixed in March! 🤞🤞🤞

I got to see Arthur spinning across the floor and into another room while trying to chase his tail today, which was top tier cat entertainment, and Mouse just pounced on him on the bed and just sort of laid on top of Arthur. It's really peak cat experience. The cat boxes are...a chore, bit it's fine

Rudy ignores them, but his old man cat dementia doesn't give him space to acknowledge anything but his demands to drink from the faucet. Rudy is hanging in there, but he's trending downward, so getting additional cats is kind of fine. He and Abby are both 15+, though Abby is much better shape.

I've noticed that having them around has made Larry more playful, I think because they're young and she's youngish. Abby even seems to like Mouse, and they share my bed throughout the day, which I was astonished by. She spent months being mad that Rudy was here, but seems fine with these two idk.

Having 6 cats (5 inside, 1 feralish terrorizing my garage) is objectively crazy person behavior, but I'm reluctantly having a great time. Arthur and Mouse are so goddamn cute and honestly some of the best cats I've ever had. They're really affectionate and my other cats tolerate them beyond my hopes

It's definitely not hard! The most time consuming part was making the latik that goes on top, because it turns out that it takes forever to cook down coconut cream, and mine turned out kind of chunky lol
