@harvard.edu now is the time to defend your educational mission and to stand up for democracy. This meets your goal of institutional neutrality. If you think what is happening right now, doesn’t effect higher ed, you are in for a rude awakening. #BeBrave.

To silence ourselves in the name of neutrality would not only violate our own policy but also abdicate our broader civil responsibility.

Those Democrats clinging to the archaic notion that they must respect the presidency — even when the current president doesn't respect the presidency — will lead to the demise of their party and democracy.
Meanwhile, Democrats are considering censuring...Rep. Al Green.

One of my favorite things to do is to sit at a bar with a book and a cocktail. King of Ashes was my last read and it was fantastic and intense. So I need something less thrilling to calm my beating heart. @quirkbooks.bsky.social @macmillanaudio.bsky.social @macmillanlib.bsky.social

Rooting for #JulianBraveNoisecat for his Oscar nominated documentary, #Sugarcane. I had the honor of eating with him at a table full of booksellers at #WinterInstitute in Denver last week. His debut memoir, drops this October and it weaves his family history and the coyote myths in a brilliant way.

I’m so thankful that I work in a store that shares the same values. And I am particularly thankful for owners and coworkers who not only realize that something is not quite right, they quickly course correct. Here is our latest in store display. @belmontbooks.bsky.social

I love popping into the National Zoo's panda cam. But sometimes, it's definitely a Where's Waldo situation.

One of my favorite (and totally geeky) thing I like to do on New Year's Day, is to look over my reading stats. I'm not talking about number of books or pages, (bc you read what you read), but percentages of kinds of books. These are the percentages for 2024.

I can 100% say, that readers are in for a mind blowing and thought provoking read!
Here's an excerpt from my forthcoming novel DEATH OF THE AUTHOR here (January 2025).

This chapter flashes its scifi side, but *please* understand this book...stretches. When you start the novel (this excerpt is chapter 3, not 1), you'll see what I'm talking about, 😁. reactormag.com/excerpts-dea...

Great start. And, this last paragraph, "While today’s announcement marks important progress, there is more to come."

It's time to commute death sentences to life sentences and to free people serving disproportionally long drug sentences.
