During the year’s busiest season of charitable giving, donors may wonder whether the nonprofits they are considering donating to are going to be good stewards of their money.

Last year, we added tools to Nonprofit Explorer to help you look into that:
Nonprofit Explorer Adds Powerful Tools to Help You Research Organizations’ Financials
ProPublica has added the ability to find nonprofit organizations that auditors have flagged as having serious financial or control deficiencies. We also added the ability to search for organizations t...

While not a replacement for medicine (especially an up-to-date vaccine) lemon balm has proven anti-viral qualities (it is used in salves to treat cold sores, for example)

Easy to grow. Makes a tasty tea. Nice supplemental food for those who can grow it in a container & can’t afford to get sick

Thousands of people still get abortions in states with bans. This Texas bill aims to stop it.
The bill’s backers have said they intend to target the medical professionals mailing abortion pills, which could provide a blueprint for other states.

I saw two cybertrucks yesterday which was unusual. I thought to myself, “Man, I hope this isn’t some type of sign like a black cat.” Today I just saw a black cybertruck. Hope my CT scan goes well today

i once heard a queer kid explain that one of the things that brings them the most relief and comfort is seeing a tattered pride flag with faded colors - because that's a sign of a place where a pride flag can soak in the sun and breeze for years and years.
I was scared to first put up a queer pride flag (red state resident) but the biggest surprise was how much more often people stopped by my house asking for help: stuck motorists, unhoused neighbors, etc.

Some told me outright that the flag made them guess that I cared about them and that's correct
With all of the anti-drag, transphobic, queerphobic nonsense about lately, I wanted to install a flag that demonstrates queer pride, so here it is. Trans and proud. Queer and proud.

I’ve said this repeatedly but I’ll say it again: if you’re able, get an IUD. it’s easily removed but otherwise lasts for years. (voice of experience here: ask for a paracervical block pre-insertion, and if they refuse, find another dr)

Ok as an old protestor outside the US I have some advice for the people whose first protest will be the next #HandsOff. Not political advice, you got that covered. Some practical notes.
1) Close-toed sturdy shoes and good socks. Carry moleskin and blister bandaids and share them.

In the, apparently increasingly likely, event that someone doesn't receive their Social Security benefit I would recommend that your first stop not be trying to call SSA directly. Report it to your local Congressperson or Senator's office, using their website constituent services form if possible

The most obvious thing about this is it is evil and sociopathic. But there’s another element: speaking as someone who has both prosecuted fraudsters and defended people very wrongfully accused of being fraudsters, it’s absolute bullshit.

There are multiple non-amazon companies making & shipping 95s/94s that are not cost prohibitive.

A lot of pharmacies (esp chain pharmacies like CVS, and Walmart) carry them too.

Here's a site that aggregated reliable mask suppliers (they used to straight up sell em but now just link):
All KF94 and KN95 Masks from Project N95
Find high-quality KN95 masks and KF94 masks from suppliers that Project N95 has vetted. Note that all links go to third-part sites that Project N95 does not control.
