Tonight sees the world-premiere of Jonathan Dove’s UPRISING at Glyndebourne. This mammoth project has been a part of my life since Autumn 2023, when I first went to Jonathan’s house to discuss chorus allocations. (🧵)

Interesting read!
As we kick off the first week of quarter, I am reminded that I my mental model is *absolutely* directory structure and I have no idea how students now live their entire lives in the chaotic laundry basket that is Google Drive. This article explains it so well: www.theverge.com/22684730/stu...

I cannot be the only one feeling a rising sense of despair at the direction of social media? First Twitter imploding, now Meta scrambling to appease the Trump administration. The amount of vitriol out there is staggering, and I increasingly find myself retreating from it all.

All very depressing.

160 singers
320 (!) arias
4 cities
5 days
0 on-time trains
2 slightly delirious YAP directors

A lovely way to finish the year - travelling the UK with the brilliant Rebecca Meltzer as we audition for our 2025 cohort of young artist singers at Waterperry Opera Festival.

It’s starting to look (and sound) very Christmassy here at Glyndebourne, as we had the first of our Christmas Concerts for 2024 today. 🎄😁

A brilliant evening watching “Shakespeare Revisited” at the National Opera Studio tonight. A great mix of scenes and monologues by the current cohort of YA singers & pianists, wonderfully conducted by @colla-voce.bsky.social! Two more performances tomorrow, and only a handful of tickets left ☺️

A gorgeous few days over in Jersey, performing with dear friend Georgia Bishop. Over ten years of music making, fun and laughter. ☺️

Grateful to Art House Jersey for organising, and looking forward to further exploring plans in 2025 for more opera on this beautiful island…

At Glyndebourne, we're currently in the middle of chorus music calls for a very exciting new world premiere - UPRISING by Jonathan Dove. Our chorus is made up of 110 amateur singers (13-80 years old!). It's very wholesome, slightly chaotic, and a lot of fun 😁 We open Spring 2025 - do come!
