I am so, so proud of the work of every single person involved in the making of this production. It has been one of the most fulfilling projects of my career, and one that will stay with me forever. I am particularly proud of what our chorus have achieved - they really do steal the show (Cont. )

Then in January, our professional cast arrived, and it has been such a joy to work with them as they brought the show to life alongside our choirs. This show has world-class performers performing alongside total amateurs - and everything in between. (Cont.)

As assistant conductor and chorus master for this show, I have been in the lucky position to be across every aspect of this show. I first auditioned our chorus of 110 (!) local singers last June, and then spent a joyous autumn teaching them this music. (Cont.)

An absolutely mammoth few days but, as always, endlessly inspiring to hear the incredible work being done by the next generation of opera singers in our conservatoires and universities, and a privilege to meet them as they make their first steps into this weird and wonderful career. 2024 is done! 😁
