Sometimes I regret the way I end a session and wish I could just go back and retcon it. But I also know it wouldn’t have the same impact 😭 it’s fine. Everything is fine. I’ll just make the payoff that much sweeter next week.

It is vitally important to get the ideas out of your head and concrete too, but getting to the point of having something to put down and play with is the writing

90% of writing happens away from the keyboard. In the shower. On a walk. In the car. Wherever you & your thoughts are alone together, that's when writing happens.
If you find yourself stuck, staring at a blinking cursor, unable to find the words, don't be afraid to step away & find somewhere quiet.

Working on a new #TTRPG and decided to use book quotes/song names as placeholders for skills until I could come up with actual names, but honestly I might keep some of these. Because who doesn’t want a skill that is just « Exit, pursued by bear » or « Welcome to the Black Parade »

For anyone who doesn't already know about this book check out Esther Hamori's God's Monsters. It is fascinating and takes monsters as a serious topic. It's also refreshingly accessible.

Tokens and Social Life in Roman Imperial Italy is now out for purchase in book or e book form, or as a free open access piece online (!!): www.cambridge.org/core/books/t.... Hoping the book will spread token appreciation - they may be small and poorly preserved, but they are still great. ;-)
