The rationale behind our 154% duty is to protect local manufacturing. I get that.

But even with that in place there is just very little manufacturing of panels in Canada. Its around 1000 jobs in the whole country vs tens of thousands in install / servicing we could gain if solar was a lot cheaper
This is how cheap our solar could be if we didn’t tax it like cigarettes

This system would cost over $30k in Canada vs $8500 in Australia

@davidebybc.bsky.social, time to show your electors the leadership.
We often focus on municipal issues, but the Province has a giant role to play in keeping people safe on our streets.

Here are 5 ideas the Province could implement, most of them nearly overnight, all of them within current budget constraints (a few even make money!) in order to save lives.
Five things the Province can do to save lives on our streets

Thanks King for defending the Georgia St bus lane.

When will @davidebybc.bsky.social finally permit automated bus lane enforcement so entitled people in Benzes can't break the law with impunity?

I briefly tuned in to tonight's public hearing (6 rezonings) and 2 of the world's most miserable people are using up their 5 minutes to show deranged slides for *each item*. What a great use of staff and council's time! www.youtube.com/live/eBFCMpi...

Today I went for a run down the entire length of London Street. There was loads of street parking available. Making London Street safer for cyclists has got to be a priority over private car storage. #NewWest.

The London St bikeway in New West is slated for modest upgrades: diverters, removal of a few parking spaces, better wayfinding.

If you think improving active transportation is good for safety, climate, or equity reasons, please take a couple minutes to write in!

I do find the BC NDPs lack of willingness to spend similar orders of magnitude on transit as the Ontario progressive conservatives remarkable.
I wish TransLink could get Metrolinx levels of funding but only if we keep our still too expensive but relatively affordable construction costs.

It's been 291 days since the City of Vancouver committed to putting in bus lanes on 9 major corridors, some of which were "already in progress".

We still have zero kilometers of new bus lanes, with consultation open for *one* route. @movementyvr.bsky.social
