Yeah basically it’s: “Keep sudentenland and send us a cut of the stuff you stole from the people being sent to the camps”
Tom Friedman’s piece in the NYT today again brings up the specter of Neville Chamberlain in ‘39. I disagree.

A better analogy is saying to Hitler: “keep the Sudetenland, don’t worry about the Holocaust, & we’ll give you a few years to rearm to attack into Belgium again. Let’s sign that!”
@nicollewallace.bsky.social @mcfaulmike.bsky.social @benrhodes.bsky.social @markhertling.bsky.social have we lost all ability to put oneself in someone else’s shoes? If not, then why is this hard? We’d never consider a proposal like the one we/Putin (gross) offered Ukraine

Compare the actual clip with the (yes) edited clip on BBC News at Ten. Amazingly the actual clip is far more incriminating than the edited version. After seeing Shah & Gibb today, it’s harder to trust the BBC alas, when the Right is on display.
ITV News, "Did you racially insult pupils at school?

Nigel Farage, "I would never do it in a hurtful or insulting way.. Not with intent"

ITV News, "I don't understand what you mean?"

Nigel Farage, "You wouldn't do"

I remain genuinely gobsmacked that this wasn’t picked up more. The Alex Jones who *repeatedly accused grieving parents of making up their children’s murders*.
Anyway, “after the news we’ll be joined by Nigel Farage & definitely won’t be asking him about any of this…”
On US TV shows and podcasts from 2009-18, Farage discussed supposed plots by bankers to create a global government, citing Goldman Sachs, the Bilderberg group and George Soros as threats to democracy. Included six guest slots with the disgraced far-right US conspiracy theorist Alex Jones.

Over at the Daily Telegraph, they're scratching their heads as to why the former mining and steel producinv city of Gliwice in Poland is now 45% more prosperous than Darlington... and why it has new shiny infrastructure... without mentioning EU funds for urban and regional development...

‘Excoriating’…Mahmood is the only person who can save LAB (& the UK) from the REF revolution. Why would any Leftie want to ‘excoriate’ her? Qui bono?
Now that’s writing… from @nesrinemalik.bsky.social’s excoriating piece on Mahmood.

Lots of things to dislike about Lord Glasman. A small one of them is repeating private conversations to the press.
Why is transphobia the default state for so many arseholes?

Just spoke to @skynewsrss.bsky.social on Trump's Ukraine 'peace plan' (or plan for a new war). In short - a lot of it wd be bad for UA & Europe. Some parts might be OK if Putin & Trump cd be trusted to implement them (they can't). Europeans will have to try to improve it while flattering Trump.

Ouch
"Sir Keir told the BBC: 'Every minute that is spent talking about anything other than cost-of-living is a wasted minute in my book.'"

OK, so why does his government keep banging on about immigration?

What should disturb many UKIP/Brexit/REF supporters is that Gill’s (public) pro-Russia speeches & acting were seen by them as *entirely consistent with UKIP/Brexit/REF anti-EU policies & so unremarkable. It should make them think again about Farage - & Brexit. Cui bono? Not them.

We’ve spent £23m on admirable Lady Hallett’s independent Covid Inquiry only to have certain parts of our media do their best to undermine it. Why? We note she strongly criticises Johnson - whom they still worship. No wonder the UK can’t deal with realities any longer.

Everyone who wants a UK that’s safe for all of us whatever the colour of our skins will hard agree with everything that Shabana Mahmood is saying on Today. Without secure borders, there’ll be no secure UK. What a difference from Yvette Cooper’s hesitancy.

This is truly chilling: what Loomer wants, Loomer seems to get. Let’s hope that Sir Keir objects to this nonsense in the strongest possible terms & puts Ms Loomer right, both on the Home Secretary’s standing & on who ‘controls’ MI5.
