When I was 12 you could get the t-shirt below for free if you bought 3 packs of cigarettes. I did so thinking I’d give the cigarettes away. None of my 12 yr old friends wanted them so I smoked them. By end of 3rd pack I was addicted & smoked for years. Just as RJ Reynolds intended! 🇺🇸🚬#marketing

I'm gonna stop saying "this is what y'all voted for" (even though we need to accept that a LARGE number of Americans did very much vote for this) and instead say what I really mean: This is what y'all refused to vote *against*

Coffee shops are the heart of darkness for republicans. All their horror stories take place inside them. They have taken the place of the forest in middle American gothic.
Starbucks says surveillance clears an employee who’d been accused of writing “Loser” on a cup when someone ordered Charlie Kirk’s “favorite drink.”

The accusation was originally posted by a Republican party official. It forced the store to shut down for safety.

So after two years of “Hamas steals all the aid” hysteria, Israeli military officials admit they found—checks notes—zero evidence. Israel is systematically starving Gaza on purpose, just like Palestinians, aid orgs, and human‑rights groups have been telling us.

Bert has been Anting

Some birds rub ants on their feathers & skin, or lie as Bert did where the ants are active, & wallow with wings spread

Ants secrete chemicals like formic acid to aid in the defense against bacteria & parasites

This secretion may also make them edible..

How do famous right-wing influencers actually poll with young men in 2025?

Rogan: 27% favorable, 35% unfavorable, 45% don't know/never heard of
Theo Von: 21% fav, 16% unfav, 55% dk
Andrew Tate: 12% fav, 47% unfav, 36% dk

I explained it to several young teens today: imagine we wanted you to become more self-sufficient in the kitchen, so we decided to charge you $20 every time you got takeout. But also we have no food in the house, we won't let you go to the store, and also you don't know how to cook.
you have to be genuinely stupid as fuck to think american companies are going to respond to tariffs by building factories and moving manufacturing to the US. i don't know how else to say it. you have to be genuinely braindead

One of my pet peeves as an environmental journalist is when people go on and on about how "toxic" our environment is.

Bitch, compared to what?

100 years ago women were literally eating radium (radioactive substance) for work

Lead was in everything
