Chronic illness friends:

I just purchased a pair of nail clippers with a little containment box on it.

GAME CHANGER

I would always put off clipping my nails and toenails because even if I waited until after a shower and did it over a large container to try to catch them, they would still go

Interesting how the U.S. Olympic Team doctor thinks where you sit, what you wipe down, and how you angle the air nozzle to avoid getting sick on flights is somehow better than wearing a well-fitted N95 mask. 😷

Society only chose option 1 because they were lied to.

“It’s just a cold”
“Kids are fine”
“Herd immunity”
"Only the vulnerable are at risk"

Repeat it enough times and people believe there’s no danger.

Denial is easy. Prevention takes effort.

Man FUCK the UK medical establishment.

FUCK the UK government.

This was nearly 50 years ago and it took a fucking pandemic to start looking into this seriously

And today STILL they conspire against getting us the research & care we need. A "final plan" that is nothing more than fucking lipservice

Imagine if the gov just didnt mention the ageing population as a key point regarding economics. That would nothing short of absurd. Everyone would be screaming about how flawed their approach is...
1️⃣ 🧵 NEW: The government’s Keep Britain Working report claims to tackle the UK’s crisis of ill health & economic inactivity.

But it never mentions Long Covid.
Not once.
Not the pandemic either.

That’s not a small oversight — it’s a fundamental flaw. Let’s unpack why 👇

6️⃣ Yes, this is a multifactorial problem - aging population, NHS backlog, cost of living, austerity.

But ignoring Long Covid and the sustained impact of repeat infections while omitting worker safety (clean air, infection control) is a public health disaster in motion

People can be skeptical when I point out covid's longer term effects because they've been erased in societal discussions.

And honestly, I don't think EVERYTHING is caused by covid.

But when NOTHING is caused by covid you really do begin to wonder if we're living in a time of honesty

Just an fyi since we're all concerned about the impact of various tests.

I had a PET/CT scan yesterday and did fine! No contrast, just the radioactive sugar water.

Only symptoms were dizziness for a minute and a headache. Common, not too bad.

😂

No. You can’t solve the health fall out from uncontrolled circulation of a novel virus and a poorly managed pandemic by flogging people harder to get back to work.

Many with excessive thirst get the "psychogenic polydipsia" label slapped on them. Yet experiments in the early 1800s showed excessive thirst can be relieved with IV water or saline – seems medicine has regressed!

I've been looking at this for a decade now, and I think this is the fundamental flaw in the way that everyone thinks Science is supposed to work, because it doesn't.

1. Publish a load of 💩

2. Get loads of letters about it and publish a false balance.

3. Wonder why nothing ever moves forward. 😩
"We have received 41 other letters making very similar points to those of Ms Hartnell and Dr Wookey - Ed, BMJ"

Yeah. Maybe try actually listening to what they say, one day? 🙄

Well these were weird AF! Weirdest test was having 50 °C air blown in one ear at a time whilst wearing an eye tracking mask with the visor down to induce dizziness. I had to stare straight ahead in the dark and they tracked my eyes
I have balance tests on Tuesday and it says not to take any meds youre prescribed for dizziness for 48 hours. But a lot of a my meds help with dizziness even though thats not why theyre prescribed. So wish me luck cos im stopping some meds and supplements for a couple days 😬😬😬

Being undiagnosed or misdiagnosed isn’t just an oopsie-doodle.

It delays treatment, kneecaps our self-understanding, and can even reinforce unhealthy shame cycles, self-criticism, and maladaptive coping strategies
