Hours after ICE became the highest federal law enforcement agency in America history (and likely in world history), the Supreme Court lifts the last obstacle to ICE deporting people to any random country around the world, even in conflict zones or where migrants are enslaved.
Over dissents from Justices Sotomayor & Jackson (and a rare concurrence from Justice Kagan), #SCOTUS "clarifies" that its 6/23 ruling staying a district court's injunction against third-country removals *also* applies to the district court's later order requiring a remedy for those already removed:

They want us dead basically. They want us dead and / or desperate. This doesn't make sense politically it makes sense if you follow like Curtis Yarvin and the goal is to collapse the government.
The reason why I don't quite get what the GOP is doing is that people receiving Medicaid are a very slightly GOP leaning (R +2 or so) group.

If one assumes lower participation amongst medicaid users, you're still probably looking at 5-7m of your own voters you're fucking.

"An absolute moral failure."

Around one in three disabled people are on Medicaid. I spoke to disability advocates about how devastated they are that the House passed the budget bill that will slash close to a trillion from Medicaid at @motherjones.com.

I am grieving the barbarism that is going to unfurl from all this. People are going to die. Livelihoods gone. All to feed a corrupt kleptocracy.

I see every day up close how different it is from the first time around. There are no guardrails. A disaster. I’m sorry we have to live through this.

Such a great look at a Sooty Grouse up high at Mono Lake's headwaters!
Starting at 12,326 ft, Mount Warren dumps gallons of water downstream via the Warren fork towards Lee Vining canyon on one side and becomes Mill creek towards Lundy canyon on the other

Both eventually fill Mono Lake

I found this sooty grouse along the Warren fork at ~9,000ft!

in what meaningful way can we say that the constitution is in effect when an unelected and unaccountable billionaire is wielding state power to unilaterally cancel congressional appropriations?
Hearing that DOGE went into the Dept of Education today and shut down almost the entirety of the department's in-house research arm, Institute of Educational Sciences, cancelling contracts totally about $900m.

My neighbor is an elderly gentleman who watches TV pretty loudly. He’s currently watching the vote count from the 2024 election…they are discussing battleground states and Dems’ path to the white house.

He must be a psychopath
