Imagine if you were in parliament for decades, and became Australia’s foreign affairs minister, and the main thing you were remembered for was failing to call out a genocide that was televised live for 2 years.

National Anti-Corruption Commission suppresses name of corrupt public servant
Following the first public release of a NACC investigation earlier this week, the commission suppressed the name of the senior public servant.

Australia is one of the biggest gas exporters in the world, but we're told to worry about a domestic gas shortage?

Might have something to do with the fact that 80% of our gas is exported.

We have a gas export problem, not a supply problem.

You’d think this in Haaretz would be top of the BBC homepage but no. The chant by Bob Vylan at Glastonbury however is.
IDF soldiers have now themselves admitted they have been ordered to murder aid-seekers in Gaza.

Truly an atrocity built on atrocity.

A good read this. Surprised other outlets haven't pursued the same line, querying why Labor Left so quiet.
www.smh.com.au/politics/fed...
Labor’s Left backed Trump’s strikes on Iran. It’s not the only issue they’ve shifted on
Anthony Albanese, Penny Wong and Tanya Plibersek all spoke in support of the US bombing of Iran’s nuclear facilities. It would have been unheard of at the start of their careers.

hey quick question: is anyone in the government's leadership going to say anything about the ABC? surely a high profile unfair dismissal linked to managing cowing to a lobby group, and involving board meddling, is worth saying something? maybe even an investigation? some consequences for the board?

The salaries paid to those at the ABC who caused the case to arise in the first place was arguably an even worse use of taxpayer money.

It has taken a court case and legal decision to highlight the undue influence of the pro-Israel lobby on the state broadcaster.

Congratulations to Lattouf and her team.

However, does raise the question of what other areas of govt policy have/are influenced by the lobby?

When the #robodebt royal commission report was handed down, imagine if victims and their families had been told:
- the #NACC would whitewash the whole episode
- NO government minister would be held to account
- the key criminal - Scott Morrison - would receive the nation's highest honour. #auspol
It’s almost 2yrs since the day Commissioner Catherine Holmes handed down her final report on Robodebt & referred those responsible for criminal prosecution. It was a day we felt like finally something was happening.
I’m so sorry to all victims who are STILL waiting for justice.
