Ireland has 9 PET scanners but only 2-3 serve public patients. Cork's (CUH) €3.8M scanner sat idle for 3 years, then opened just 2 days/week due to "budget constraints"
Public access: 0.5 scanners per million vs 1.8 overall.
Meanwhile cancer patients (like me) wait while machines sit mostly idle.
