It’s clear from this heatmap that people will continue to ride bikes on Princes St, despite there being no cycle lanes - it’s where the shops, gardens & destinations are

Imagine how much more use it would get if we built protected bike lanes here

(white is more people cycling)

Not sure if it’s officially officially open yet as the entrance on Dock Street still has fencing - but the Leith Connections section along Sandport has had all barriers removed and is a JOY to ride!

Want to ride along? 😁

Trams to Granton and the B-Quarter consulation has opened and I am even more confident that the Roseburn path route is the correct one.

To me it appears AT will be improved along much of the route with single track running at bridges allowing for acceptable footpath widths.

Let's get it built!

The consultation on the proposed north-south tram route from Granton to the Bioquarter will now start in mid-August 2025, slightly later than planned, to avoid the school holidays.

I’ll share updates as they come—feel free to reach out with any questions.

Scheduled a podcast to drop every few days into your feeds. Having to speed run the release of these due to the subject matter focusing on the fast moving collapse of the American empire.

I’m considering introducing a new e-bike cycle hire scheme in Edinburgh this year. My Committee is holding a number of vendor workshops to understand how a pilot of this new scheme might work. First up was Dott.

Interesting workshop to consider a possible new bike hire scheme for Edinburgh today.

Another operator will run a workshop tomorrow, then we’ll get a report to committee in the Spring looking at options.
