⚠️ Serious incident at Threipmuir Reservoir today. A person entered the ice to rescue a dog that fell through. Thankfully they returned safely, but the dog was not recovered. Frozen reservoirs are dangerous—please keep safe in the Pentland Hills this winter.

I want to invest in bus priority measures across the city but the SNP Government keep cutting the available budget. Unfortunately for the citizens of Edinburgh this is the direct result.

🚨Braids Estate update - I believe pausing the implementation of this scheme is the right thing to do at this time. We will have to wait until after the Standards Commission hearing in March before deciding what the next steps are.

I was really gutted to miss this year’s event. The team at Big Noise do a fantastic job in the Wester Hailes community, and I’m sure the kids were as brilliant as ever.

The incremental rollout of this scheme is going really well. Over 200,000 km cycled since September shows the demand was always there and we are on track to have city-wide coverage early next year.

I’m really pleased to see Officers take this enforcement action. I’ve always believed in working with businesses to encourage the right behaviour — I’m definitely more of a carrot-than-stick person. But sometimes, when all else fails, the stick is the only option left.
Yesterday we seized stock from three businesses on Princes Street which were obstructing the footway. This confiscation came after repeated warnings.

We'll continue to enforce the rules and make sure our footways are clear and accessible for all.
