"If the BBC is so woke, how come it grovels before Farage?"

Nick Cohen with an excellent critique of what's been wrong with BBC journalism for a long time, in pandering to right-wing parties.
If the BBC is so woke, how come it grovels before Farage?
The radical right is also the enemy of journalism

Research that shows why people like Robbie Gibb and his backers were so desperate to grab the reins at the BBC and harness it to their interests... and why we must protect it and restore it to health
As the BBC faces fresh scrutiny, what does our research say about it?

Here's an updated version of a piece by @rasmuskleis.bsky.social @annisch.bsky.social @richardfletcher.bsky.social and Craig T. Robertson originally published in 2020

The CURRENT sitting MP for Clacton earns £511,000 as a presenter for GB News and took £281,000 as a brand ambassador for Direct Bullion.

So maybe sit this one out, you rancid herring.

I've always felt that Johnson and Farage put self-interest over the national interest - hence their dallying with Putin and his oligarchs. But directly colluding with a foreign government to take down the BBC feels like an act of supreme treachery

Two-thirds of California's power comes from clean energy.

For 9 in 10 days so far this year, we were 100% powered for some part of the day by clean energy.

Trump and his cronies have the BBC in their sights. Leaders can’t stay silent while one of our great institutions is attacked.

We must defend its independence, end political appointments, and remove Robbie Gibb from the Board.

Bernie Sanders has said in the Senate after Susan Collins reportedly laughed about the new funding bill:

“If this bill passes, certain groups will see their premiums triple. When you remove healthcare from 15 million people, 50,000 Americans will die who didn’t have to. Do you think that’s funny?”

The BBC isn't perfect, but it belongs to Britain not Trump.

Political leaders across the UK must unite in defending its independence from the White House.

Kudos to @eddavey.libdems.org.uk for standing up for the #BBC now! It is, sadly, a courageous act in this moment.

The editors and producers of the Panorama documentary made a unforgivable judgement. However, the BBC is so much than a few errors.

Today, @dailystar.co.uk says what needs to be said👇

OK no more editing of Trump. Broadcast every stumble, every nonsensical ramble and brain fart. No more tidying him up or explaining him. Instead of commentary, just replace every reporter with this GIF every time he does anything:
