BREAKING 🚨: COP30 is flooded with 1,600 fossil fuel lobbyists.

One in every 25 people inside the climate talks is working for the industry that caused this crisis.

They outnumber almost every country, including those losing lives to storms, drought and heat.

Our research found millions of renters are missing out on hundreds of £s a year due to the out of date deposit system.

In @thetimes.com our @danwilsoncraw.bsky.social sets out some simple solutions to make the system fairer and put more money in renters' pockets. ⬇️

If the price of everyday items had grown as fast as rents since 1988, a supermarket chicken would now set you back £53.76.

The bill won't address this affordability crisis - we need further action.

If the DWP makes error and overpays certain benefits, the Bill allows Ministers to recover money from the claimant’s bank account. No court order is needed.

What if benefit claimants can't afford to repay, or face hardship?

No equivalent law for fraudsters and scammers.
A new bill will lead to mass state surveillance for the most vulnerable. We must act.
This bill grants the government powers of surveillance on the bank accounts of the poor, old, sick and disabled people receiving specified benefits
