Hunting for bias will ultimately be hunting the snark. We are all biased in some way or another. The news team need to insist on detail and rigour, not matching one empty but biased commentator with another equally empty and biased commentator from the other side.

My hot take on today's much-discussed issue is that I *really* can't stand Fleetwood Mac.

The BBC and the Democrats having a hard fought battle over who can capitulate in the most craven, cowardly and pathetic way. Ironically the hardest either of them have fought over anything for some time.

Completely beyond why people try to defend Labour record on treatment of asylum seekers. They are awful.
They have done terrible things the Tories never even thought of, like denying any refugee who came here through irregular means from EVER becoming a citizen & ENDING FAMILY REUNIFICATION. demons.

Rowling and Liddle are both repugnant, hate-driven arseholes, and this stuff is saying that believing they are is some kind of wild extremist insanity that must be expunged. How long do we think these miniature Canutes can send back the incoming tide, do we think?

In 2024, almost 900 members voted to keep their trans-inclusive policy - a policy that has worked peacefully since 2019.
Now, a small campaign group is seeking to overturn that democratic decision through the courts.

Apart from Rose Henderson being entirely blameless, the notable thing about this piece is the refusal to use any pronouns to refer to her, referring to her only by her name, which just sounds really odd.

I keep seeing supposedly progressive podcasts saying “the problem is that people feel like they just can’t talk about these issues” while these issues are frequently the *only* thing that people are talking about 😩
Am struggling with the idea that people like me somehow don't understand the legitimate concerns of people who attended the Tommy Robinson march. I literally had National Front fliers through my letterbox in my childhood in Greater London and I went to school and university with actual fascists.

This is what I mean when I say the problem is spiritual -- "spirit" in the sense of "team spirit" or "spirit of the law." The effect of collective human belief upon the scope and boundary of what is right and wrong and permissible and possible.
I don't want to contribute to romanticization of humble Trump voting rural men and women, but his voters can be downright decent one-on-one. A few aren't even interpersonally racist or sexist! But their ideas on politics and how the world should be are racist, sexist, and heavily influenced by lies.
