Despite what you hear from fossil fuel-funded politicians, the U.K has just generated a record amount of clean, domestic wind energy.

Enough to power 23 million homes!

U.K decarbonisation policy is a recipe for energy security.

Because we don’t have a Proportional System in this country, you will probably end up paying more tax, which should be raised from the big banks and social media giants instead.

The Government has deliberately turned its back on the single most effective step it could take to kick-start growth and fill the £90 billion Brexit-shaped hole in the public finances.

We need a new Customs Union with the EU to get our economy growing.

China’s rate of CO2 emission has been stable for 18 months.

If the most populous country in the world (and one of the fastest growing economies) can make changes to reduce pollution, so can we
Flatlining CO2 emissions in China foreshadows that global emissions will peak

Not fast enough, and the fall may not be steep enough. But at least the peak is is sight

🚨 Big decision THIS WEEK! 🚨

💧 Harrogate Spring Water wants to expand, and chop down Rotary Wood to do it.

❌ I’ve objected to the plans, but I want to know what YOU think.

A far right politician with credibility is dangerous: they dog whistle rather than speak their racism aloud, and they speak calmly and clearly.

We're sure they're racists, but it's hard to prove.

I'm really grateful when the likes of Pochin say the quiet part out loud and prove it for free.

Sarah Pochin was responding to a question about whether her party will do anything about the 'representation of demographics in TV adverts', and claimed white people were 'demonised'

This shambles only deepens concerns about delays & failures in SEND provision.

I’ve written to Cllr Wilkinson with local councillors demanding urgent clarity. Parents deserve competence, not confusion.

🙌 It’s always good to see national recognition for our work to make Harrogate and Knaresborough the best places in the country to live

Ed knows that the good work we’re doing here can provide a model for all of Yorkshire
👏 Great to see Ed highlight the hard work we’ve been getting on with in Harrogate & Knaresborough.

💪 Proud that our campaigning is helping, alongside that of fantastic councillors, to put the Lib Dems back on the map in Yorkshire and across the North.

The amendment, tabled by @tomgordonld.bsky.social, would have removed all time restrictions on disabled people using their bus passes.

If you’d like to meet our excellent MP - and Town Councillor Patrick Milne and myself - we will be outside the Saints’ Coffee Shop on the 6th September from 10am until 10:30.

It’s been awesome to join Tom meeting with constituents, and I’m really looking forward to the tour coming to our area!
💛 Being your MP is my wildest dreams, and I can’t wait to be getting out and about - spending more than a fortnight on the doors throughout August and beyond.

👀 I’ll even be joined by some special guests along the way.

I wish I was shocked when I realised that the article I talked about in the council chamber was written by a Conservative councillor

Unfortunately, prejudice of renewable energy and talking down the UK and our international partners are things I’ve come to expect

People needing inpatient mental healthcare is rare - but when it does happen, people should be cared for as close to home as possible. That’s why I asked the exec member for health to make sure that people don’t have to go all the way from Harrogate to Teeside just to get the care they need

Yet again, North Yorkshire has been forgotten by the Labour Government in favour of their urban strongholds to the south.

We were promised that a combined authority and a mayor would get us more investment - instead, people in our area - especially commuters - have been shafted.
On Look North, I welcomed investment in West Yorkshire’s mass transit – but voiced frustration that North Yorkshire is overlooked again.

People live, work & commute across regions. Any serious transport plan must reflect that.

The Govt must stop ignoring our region.

Very well said from Sarah on this Mothering Sunday - and a special thanks to my own Mum, who comes out delivering leaflets with me with impressive regularity!
Wishing a very happy Mother's Day to all the incredible mums, grandmothers, carers & those who've stepped into the role.

Today we celebrate all mothers & thank them for their kindness, resilience & love.

We also acknowledge those for whom this is a difficult day, and send them strength.

“It’s not about potholes, it’s about decent road maintenance in the first place”

Wendy is dead right here - this is why we’re calling on the Tories at North Yorkshire Council to invest in damage prevention rather than firefighting problem after problem.

Not just on the roads, but for everything.
One issue that consistently comes up on the doorsteps is potholes. On BBC Question Time yesterday, I highlighted the importance of overall road maintenance to prevent potholes from appearing in the first place.

With 52% of those affected being single parents and nearly half of single-parent children in poverty, it is pushing struggling families further into hardship.
