Donald Trump is coming for the BBC and for your wallets.

I urged the Prime Minister to stand up for the 23.8 million licence fee paying households, and tell Trump he won't get a penny.

For all its faults, the BBC isn’t just a broadcaster — it’s part of our national culture and a pillar of our resilience in the information wars. Those who seek its destruction do our enemies’ work. We’d lose it at our collective peril. #BBC

Net zero is one of the many areas where commentators are out-of-touch with public opinion in Britain. There is still broad support for cutting carbon emissions - except from among Reform supporters, who are the outliers.
🧵/ How far does the public support net zero?

Support: 60%
Oppose: 25%

Net support by party
Green: +81
Lib Dem: +67
Lab: +64
Con: +11
Reform: -44

I’ve written to Keir Starmer, Kemi Badenoch and Nigel Farage urging them to condemn Donald Trump’s attack on the BBC.

The BBC belongs to Britain, not Trump. We must defend it together.

Anthony Hook,’ Lib Dem leader of the opposition said: “Reform have no idea what they are doing. They have already descended into factions and infighting. Instead of running a council in desperate need of leadership, they are busy recreating Monty Python’s back catalogue.”

Hang on. In reporting, Cllr Kemp is described as a Reform UK staffer (now ex-staffer). As her LinkedIn seems to attest.

So why hasn't she declared it on her register of interests?

It is a legal duty under the Localism Act. Failing to declare relevant financial interests is a criminal offence.

What surprise, not. No Lib Dem, Green, Nat, or Independent on #PoliticsLive today. The only surprise is no one from Reform on today.
That means that the BBC has ignored any voice except Labour, Tory & Reform on the program this week.
Tonight's #QuestionTime also has no one from these parties on.

As we look ahead to Remembrance Sunday, we must also remember our debt to those who have served more recently. After hearing from local veterans, I raised concerns with the Minister about the significant delays in payments under the Armed Forces Compensation Scheme for those injured during service

Yet again today's edition of BBC #PoliticsLive features a Reform MP but no one from the Lib Dems, the Greens or the SNP. The bias is so blatant.

He's just another Thatcherite Tory. The rich to get richer and poor to go to hell. Amazing how former Labour voters who would not have voted Tory for any reason are now flocking to support a Tory Party called Reform who have added far right bells and whistles too!
YOUNG PEOPLE. LISTEN UP.

Today Nigel Farage said the government should cut the minimum wage for young people

...to “raise aspiration” and “boost business"

LibDems must stand firm on furthering LGBT+ rights, setting a firm example for human rights.

My favorite part of this hour-long conversation between a Jewish woman and a Palestinian Israeli woman, members of Standing Together, is at the end when both say:

“Thank you for being authentic — and for triggering me.”
😅 Their deepest feelings don't always match but they are still allies.
A new episode of The Long Answer podcast came out today! Tune in to hear Sally and Jess discuss whether they have consensus about their ideas for the future, and how we should go about mobilizing people in Israeli society toward a political solution.
