🧵 There are a lot of misleading claims out there about the SAVE Act. Let me set the record straight: I voted for the SAVE Act for the simple reason that American elections are for Americans. Requiring proof of citizenship to register to vote is common sense.

I don’t know if people outside of the DC area are aware of this but House Republicans voted to cut the DC city budget by $1 billion. Like, the LOCAL city budget. So like…they want to stop funding DC public schools and other public programs for literally no reason. It’s an insane thing to do.

Museums continued to make headway last year toward repatriating the remains of thousands of Native American ancestors to tribal nations. Recent ProPublica reporting highlighted decades of slow progress of compliance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act.
