From their research, Whitin Badger and Dwight Cooke had long exciting lives together.

Whitin was an author and Dwight a journalist. They traveled the world together and lived in Santa Barbara until their deaths. They were buried together because Badger’s family had a plot in Princeton.

The line of poetry caught me first, followed by the realization it was two men buried together who had died in the same year.

I went back to my hotel room, did some light googling, and found out that Whitin Badger had written a book of poetry called Unicorn, which I thought was pretty neat.

So I was on tour this month, and when I was doing my event for the Princeton University Library and the Princeton Public Library, I ended up at the graveyard, where I found this gravestone:

The Onion is in a unique spot: We're independent and not beholden to anyone, in a time when that's increasingly both rare and necessary. We're one of the rare media organizations allowed, and expected, to say things no one else can say, but everybody knows is true.

We'll be exploiting that in 2025.

🚨 Everyone needs to call their Dem Senator right now. They are starting to cave.

Tell them:
1. Vote NO on Cloture
AND
2. Vote NO on the Republican spending bill.

Don’t let them pivot to reconciliation. GOP doesn’t need Dem votes on that and they know it.

TODAY is the showdown.

That's why I'm going to #standupforscience at the Colorado State Capitol tomorrow.

Tech zillionaires' toxic masculinity as applied to planet names
I absolutely love that *Venus* is a far more realistic candidate for some form of permanent human presence than Mars

And yet the space chuds never talk about it afaik
The surface of Venus is a lethal crushing inferno BUT about 50km up in the atmosphere you have:
* Earth-like temperatures
* 1 Bar pressure
* sunlight for power

Aerostats filled with breathable air would float! We could live in cloud cities and even go *outside* wearing little more than scuba gear!
