IMPORTANT: The Dutch invested €595 million annually on urban biking, resulting in €19 BILLION saved in public health care costs alone. That’s how smart govts do math on investing in better mobility.

Let’s be clear — it wastes public money to NOT do it.

This is a topic I have tried to push for years. Kids have a right to move around on our roads exactly the same as licensed drivers. You don't need a licenses to ride your bike in the street and yet cities do little to protect youth who need to use our roads.

Your regular reminder that the more often you own your mistakes, the easier it gets.

It is like any muscle-- work it more and it gets stronger.

All people mess up, and sometimes we do so publicly.

It's not the end of the world to acknowledge that we missed the mark; it's how we clean up.

And this has been the position of the US government for nearly 80 years: Forced public subsidy of private transportation to create profit for oil/gas, car manufacturers, and road construction. That’s why public transit (more affordable in every way) is dead in much of the country.
congestion pricing and other laws encouraging cycling and public transit in general destroys incentives to buy cars and makes for profit methods of transits take the sidelines, which is ultimately all they care about. profit above all else

Not just Democrats! Major media outlets need to clearly describe what's happening as authoritarianism instead of using euphemisms like "broad Presidential powers." It's not even up for debate anymore at this point.

1) Dems are the minority in Congress, greatly limiting their institutional power

2) Congressional Dems can and should be doing more

3) Some Dems are actually doing opposition, drawing public attention, etc

4) Not enough are
