I'm Amykins, and I play things!
When I'm not working or playing games, I'm probably spending time with my husband & kitties, appreciating art of all kinds, and silversmithing jewelry.

“It's both possible, and even necessary, to simultaneously enjoy media while also being critical of its more problematic or pernicious aspects" was such a simple message that was so thoroughly and viciously rejected, but i think many of you still need to learn it

How did America normalize having AT LEAST 100,000 COVID INFECTIONS PER DAY at any time of the year?

Each infection raises the risk of long covid, chronic disease, and negative economic consequences.

powerful detailed account of ICE captivity

"To put things into perspective: I had a Canadian passport, lawyers, resources, media attention, friends, family and even politicians advocating for me...Imagine what this system is like for every other person in there"

www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...
I’m the Canadian who was detained by Ice for two weeks. It felt like I had been kidnapped
I was stuck in a freezing cell without explanation despite eventually having lawyers and media attention. Yet, compared with others, I was lucky

🚨 Everyone needs to call their Dem Senator right now. They are starting to cave.

Tell them:
1. Vote NO on Cloture
AND
2. Vote NO on the Republican spending bill.

Don’t let them pivot to reconciliation. GOP doesn’t need Dem votes on that and they know it.

TODAY is the showdown.

One of my companies informed me they cancelled a $2m conference in Florida. Why ?

They didn’t feel they could pass on the incremental cost of tariffs. So they are cutting expenses.

That’s a city that lost a ton of tourism revenue.

The cost of tariffs isn’t just the cost of the tariff

1. Today, Senate Democrats showed spine, and killed a national transgender sports ban bill via filibuster.

Not a SINGLE Democrat voted for cloture.

Senate Dems Show Spine, And National Sports Ban Bill Dies
The failed legislation reflects a wider effort to disallow trans women (or anyone suspected of being a trans woman) from women’s sports and spaces.

I spoke last night about the need for “wedges.” Between Trump and Musk. Between Trump and congressional Republicans.

Yesterday Trump had to walk back from his implication that he might not follow judicial orders b/c prominent Republican Senators were pissed. Every wedge is an opportunity.

Hell yeah. Hold the line. This is what we need people to do.

Slow things down, don’t comply in advance so the courts have time to stop them. It’s starting to work.
Received a letter from POTUS today purporting to remove me as Commissioner and Chair of the FEC. There's a legal way to replace FEC commissioners-this isn't it. I've been so fortunate to serve the American people and stir up some good trouble along the way. That's not changing anytime soon.

I've been listening in on the filibuster and Senators Klobuchar and Schatz have read emails from constituents that talk about this. It's working.
At a meeting today with staffers for Senators Markey and Warren, the staffers made two concrete asks:

1. Please call or email and share your stories about how the current administration’s actions are hurting or will hurt you personally. The Senators can use these human stories to persuade those /1
