NEWS: Walgreens just got taken over by private equity.

Private equity has a record of running companies into the ground.

Walgreens could be the latest victim: closing more stores, service plummeting, workers losing their jobs, and eventually bankruptcy.

R.E.M. “pushed the boundaries” of alternative rock

Herbie Hancock “pushed the boundaries” of jazz

Trump & RFK Jr. are “destroying public health & will be responsible for killing people”

What is journalism, anyway? 🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️
You spelled ENDANGERING wrong, @nytimes.com.

“Pushing the boundaries” is a *positive* frame implying unconventional innovations. There are no innovations here. Just medieval anti-science populist attacks on some of best methods of truth seeking we have.

They are likely taking them to the Children’s hospital near by. Today lots of my thoughts are with the staff there. Many of them are immigrants, and they will work to save lives in a country where many despise them.
We need to choose. Guns or kids. Guns or humanity. This isn’t some game. There’s real, terrible consequences not just to the kids who are dead.

How different a reaction from when our politicians were assassinated.

It’s the guns. It’s the guns. It’s the guns. It is the access to guns. It has always been the thing that sets us apart from other places.

The regime seized military control of the capital supported by units from regions loyal to the regime & announced that it will deploy military forces to regions controlled by opponents & oppressed groups.

I'm FAR from the 1st person to say this, but are we all clear now about what's happening?

"President Projects Own Fraud On Nearest Non-White Woman." Even the Free Market Washington Post threw in an "unproven" because this is already making the markets as jittery as hell.
Breaking news: President Donald Trump moved to oust Federal Reserve governor Lisa Cook over unproven allegations that she committed mortgage fraud, ratcheting up his push to bend the independent central bank to his will.

I know lots and lots of things are trash, but today I’d like to celebrate my pollinator friendly garden. In the 21 years we’ve lived here, this is the most nature filled summer. Yes, I’m mad at the bunnies for eating my natives, but I have so many pollinators. Including sleepy bees on zinnias.

One cool thing I saw in Madison was the future home of a @raygunsite.com store. I was sad it wasn’t open yet.

I’m in Madison, WI, for my kid’s college registration/orientation. The feeling of isolation as an AuHD parent of an AuHD kid is as bad as kindergarten registration. She found her people (extrovert collecting of introverts), but all I found was a narcissist dad manipulating his autistic kid.

Make America Vulnerable Again.
Long before he became secretary of the US Department of Health and Human Services under President Trump, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was laying the groundwork for his war on vaccines.

We have the receipts📑
A non-exhaustive timeline of Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s war on vaccines
He's transformed conspiracy theories into action and reshaped American policy in just a few months.

This is only possible because we exposed our kids to awesome music. Like Beastie Boys, Nirvana, Depeche Mode.
It's a great day when your kids want to wear your "cool" late eighties/early nineties t-shirts that don't fit any more.

This was the order of events:

1. Paramount acceded to Trump’s extortion by paying a bribe.

2. Stephen Colbert calls his employer out for doing that.

3. Paramount fires Stephen Colbert for being honest about Trump.

4. Proving Trump’s bribe worked.

Excellent summary of why trump is aligning with #PETA:

“Scientists too want to reduce animals in research …It’s a wedge issue because scientists and the public do not have unified views on animal research — unlike things like … fascism, which scientists are universally opposed to.”
"The Trump NIH animal research move is not about organoids, or animals. It's about politics."

New contributed post on our blog today, about political wedge issues.

Seeing these kinds of takes on K-Pop Demon Hunters feels like justification of how much I loved it. Especially as someone working so hard to break generational trauma cycles. I also love the Korean art references, and how real it felt for something animated.

I wasn’t going to watch KPop Demon Hunters. In fact, when a few friends messaged me asking for my thoughts on it, I sidestepped the conversation. I had subconsciously written it off as yet another pie...

Think hard. For years, Trump insisted the Epstein files were real and contained incriminating evidence against the Clintons and other key Democrats. Now he insists that the files themselves are fake and created by Clintons and the Democrats to frame him.

He’s literally telling us he’s in ‘em!

Today the kids & I went to Wild Vintage Collective (queer owned antique mall w/coffee shop) & found vintage troll dolls. Then went to a claw arcade (Happy Claw) to get eldest her claw redemption arc (success, giant pig named HAMilton). Boca Chica burritos & a meet up for a collectible for youngest.
