Bezos knows exactly why they are losing subscribers and has decided DOD contracts are more lucrative.
The morning after mass layoffs, The Washington Post publishes this as their lead editorial. The owner and publisher clearly have no idea why they are losing subscribers. Meanwhile they have destroyed a storied brand.

🚨BREAKING: President Donald Trump urged Republicans to seize control of elections and place voting under national authority Monday — one of his most explicit signals yet that he plans to interfere with the workings of democracy. www.democracydocket.com/news-alerts/...
Trump: ‘We should take over the voting’
Trump, as usual, offered no evidence for any of his claims.

‘One officer told me that I "had no chance of returning to Minnesota" and that "the best thing for (me] is self-deportation." …
She offered me $2600 to self-deport.
I refused.
I wanted to talk to my attorney.
They didn't tell me the judge had already ordered my release and return to Minnesota.’

I just learned about this awesome alternative to the wrestling world of the woman fucking over disabled kids. I would watch wrestling just to give them market share.

Wow! What sounded like the entire AEW Dynamite audience in Las Vegas tonight chanted "Fuck ICE! Fuck ICE!" in unison before the main event

Seeing yet another 'using whistles is disablist' piece circulating: for the 40 millionth time, using disabled people as cover like this is disgusting and calculated to prey on people who are anxious about doing the wrong thing. Doesn't escape notice that white people are the worst offenders.

Getting takeout and skipping the delivery so you can show in person solidarity. Making dinner at home so you can donate to the food shelf.
Bringing unused craft kits to community orgs to distribute to keep bored kids busy.

This is a marathon, not a sprint. As they think this is a draw down…
Just a reminder that being a part of it can mean resting so you’re healthy when you’re needed. Building strength & fitness so you can be ready to run and help.

A home-grown protest song by local Minneapolis folksy Americana band Roe Family Singers. It's more common to see them play at the farmers' market and family-friendly events. A pretty good indication of how many in Minneapolis are feeling right now...

I think one thing people outside Minnesota don't understand is that after Good and Pretti were killed by feds while observing, the most normal people you could imagine have made peace with the fact that they could be next, and they are still out there because they say it's the right thing to do.
“If I am killed doing this, throw my body at the White House, martyr the shit out of me & raise hell. Do not be sad. Do not think I would do anything differently. I would do it over & over again — this is too important to sit down & shut up and not do anything.” www.mprnews.org/story/2026/0...

The thing is, it’s not just a drop in the bucket and it hasn’t been just a drop in the bucket.

Every small step we take, even incremental, to support our neighbors in the most local sense adds up in powerful ways.

Do not let perfection diminish the impact.

Shop *more* locally than you had.
It feels like a drop in the bucket, but I really am committing to a "shop local" mode of consumption. Thank goodness for the co-ops in this city.

Our founders, though deeply flawed, understood that democracy requires an informed citizenry and a government accountable to it people. That’s why the press is the only profession protected by the Constitution. It’s also why autocrats and oligarchs seek to control and destroy it.

The thought of any dude stalking a childcare center raises all kinds of alarm bells.
a Republican witness in the GOP's "Somali Scammers" hearing details how he drives by childcare centers and looks at how many footprints in the snow there are to determine how many kids are there. Psycho stuff.

It's no accident that in reiterating his calls to "nationalize" elections, the president focused on Detroit, Philadelphia and Atlanta. A core tactic of the president and others seeking to undermine elections has been to target cities with lots of voters of color.

I'm not sure what to make of it, but every Somali I represent in immigration court currently (8 of them) have today had their hearings cancelled and their judges reassigned. They're now all assigned to a video judge from Louisiana and scheduled for court hearing in one month. 🧵
