My most middle-aged divorced take is that this Lily Allen record‘s true purpose is to promote the sale of a white elephant brownstone in a terrible market. because from the sound of it, those two seem overleveraged and cash poor.

Break up the Democratic Party, sell the parts for scrap, beat and harangue its architects and factotums out of public life, and then reform a New Deal rainbow coalition. It's done. It's goddamn done! Bunch of carpetbagging shitstains on our collective shoe.

IDK why I thought the thorns-wave quarterfinal would be a chill noon match and I would get on with my day instead of leaving me emotionally destroyed at 3PM staring out the bus window going home to collapse in my dirty house #baonpdx

pre-writing a devastating obituary for your enemy is god-tier hating of a kind you don’t often see anymore. renaissance haterism. beautiful stuff.
A Sharon Begley byline, almost 5 years after her death.

Upon hearing the news James Watson had died, a STAT reporter said in our Slack, "I wish I could read what Sharon would have written."

Incredible news: Sharon in fact did pre-write a Watson obit. And it is masterful and excoriating.

Over a year ago and against my better judgment, I helped my 79 y-o friend set up a Facebook account so she could send a fan message to her favorite Irish crime drama actress.

Today, said actress sent her a belated 81st birthday message. Amanda Burton you are a class act!

so many middle-class people are completely unaware of food insecurity. was talking with a soccer dad yesterday and mentioned that 2/3 of the kids at our school get food assistance. He was shocked!

And like, this dude is a lawyer who works on progressive public policy!

neat trick the "centrists" love to pull: just blankly asserting that all of their personal biases are popular and the things they don't like are unpopular and dragging the party down

we see the transphobia, folks
i'm fine with a deeper focus on economic issues over social issues but man does plank 2 give the game away
