Puberty blockers have only ever been recommended to be taken for 2-3 years. For a young person who started taking them at 12, the NHS is forcing trans kids to stay on them for over SIX YEARS!!! 😖

This is MEDICALLY NEGLIGENT and will absolutely have negative physical & mental side effects! 😣😤

We are hearing that those few who were on NHS GIDS prescribed puberty blockers before GIDS closed, who were transferred to a small legacy clinic at Nottingham, are now being told all referrals for MDT panel approval to start hormones have been stopped. 1/2

Oh good, ChatGPT is getting "erotica for verified adults" later this year
We made ChatGPT pretty restrictive to make sure we were being careful with mental health issues. We realize this made it less useful/enjoyable to many users who had no mental health problems, but given the seriousness of the issue we wanted to get this right. Now that we have been able to mitigate the serious mental health issues and have new tools, we are going to be able to safely relax the restrictions in most cases. In a few weeks, we plan to put out a new version of ChatGPT that allows people to have a personality that behaves more like what people liked about 4o (we hope it will be better!). If you want your ChatGPT to respond in a very human-like way, or use a ton of emoji, or act like a friend, ChatGPT should do it (but only if you want it, not because we are usage-maxxing). In December, as we roll out age-gating more fully and as part of our “treat adult users like adults” principle, we will allow even more, like erotica for verified adults.

In Glasgow, there is a 224-year waiting list for gender clinic appointments.

224 YEARS.

This is institutionalised discrimination. It's unacceptable, it's ruining people's lives and it needs to change.

We have the solution. Time for politicians to act.
Gender Clinic Files: Some people in Scotland will never get a gender clinic appointment on a 224-year waitlist. This system is failing to support people to transition not because it is broken, but by design. The frustrating thing is that this would not be a difficult problem to solve under a different political paradigm. Trans+ people do not need to be assessed by gender clinics or diagnosed by psychiatrists to tell us what we already know: we are trans. The healthcare we need, especially when it comes to hormones, is already available to cis people through making an appointment with their GP. Gender clinics are unnecessary and exist to segregate healthcare for Trans+ people. Abolishing this system and providing Trans+ healthcare in primary care, at the GP through an informed consent model, would solve many of the issues this data reveals. GPs already prescribe hormones to cis adults. Trans+ adults simply need the same access to this healthcare.

So a group of trans folks in Portland are trying to secure funds for a property they can use to house homeless bipoc trans women and femmes as well as providing meals to the growing homeless population. Literally anything helps so please donate or spread the word!

We have the opportunity to create housing security immediately for 5 people. Once we have done the work of renovating, with one of our community members taking the lead with their extensive knowledge and experience as a master carpenter, we will have the ability to house up to 9 people in the house and possibly have a space for a rv or a tiny home in the backyard. We all will be taking part in the work to make this house livable and this dream come into fruition. For me personally, I spent 10 years homeless starting as a young teenager, I now work in homeless services and have seen the need for safe transitional spots for trans woman specifically to land in the Portland area. This does not exist yet and we hope to bring not only housing security for 5 of us immediately but to open this space to our homeless community members to have better access to services and the ability to get back on their feet. This will include -A free and safe space for homeless trans woman to stay among their peers while searching for housing. -A community garden built truly for the community, in memory of my late partner Neta, homeless neighbors in the area given access to fresh fruits, veggies, herbs and medicine 24/7. -Home cooked community meals that will feed homeless neighbors.
