I firmly believe that every person on earth should see Grave of the Fireflies. A more brutal and truthful indictment of war and its impact on people I have never seen. I have managed to watch it three times and I daresay I may never make a fourth in spite of the beautiful animation because...ouch.
I'm sure many will agree: Grave of the Fireflies. Beautiful but BRUTAL on the heart.
Never mind movies you’ve watched multiple times, name a movie you’ve watched once and would never watch again.

Movie you’ve watched more than six times with a gif. Hard mode: no Stars (Wars nor Trek), LOTR, or Marvel, Disney Animated or Pixar.

Durango is a play biter: excitement and stim leads to wiggles and licks then bite then lick again. Fine most times but he has taken to chewing on feet under covers at 3am. Little cute baby, I am working this week and must get up at 5, why you gotta wake me 2hrs early! Sugs? Asking for exhausted.

The more retailers complain I don't spending enough, the less I spend. In the last 40 days I only purchased food and then just enough to fill out things in the pantry that need used. Holiday gifts were purchased in Japan in March. Local or nothing at this point. I am so over it.

Our little furball has a name: Durango G (Guy) Silverton. He has also been cleared on his FIV diagnosis from early kittenhood/birth mother by a clean test today. Growing like a weed in spring!

Why do you appreciate unions?

I’ll start:

Weekends off
Paid vacations
Work breaks
Sick leave
Paid holidays
No child labor
Safer working conditions
Health care and retirement benefits

Many young people were pushed toward four year programs and went into major debt to get their degree. Now they will not only face stagnating wages but no jobs at all? This is part of why labor unions, trades, college loan forgiveness, and free community college should be part of the agenda.
Unemployment for an entire generation isn’t ‘quiet time.’ It’s a failing labor market and a warning sign for the economy.
Kevin Hassett: "I think there could be a little bit of an almost quiet time in the labor market, because firms are finding that AI is making their workers so productive that they don't necessarily have to hire the new kids out of college and so on."

Overheard out of spouse who is on remote meeting: "I'm trying to figure out if someone is just doing IT buzword bingo or if there is an actual need here. Either way it is going to cost more an hour."

If you see this, post an anime you love!

Most recent obsession is March Comes In Like A Lion. I have so many feels about Rei Kiriyama. This spectrum/neurodivergent kid and the found family he gathers as he attempts to navigate life - SEEN.

I am aghast at what's going on. It makes 1.0 look like a cakewalk. I protested and marched and signed up voters and got quiet Joe. Now the crazy is back. I am honestly still exhausted from the first round. I'm not doing nothing, but I am trying to protect my peace and be strategic.
A lot of people are pretty freaked out by the current political state of affairs and carrying on because they don't know what else to do, except out one foot in front of the other.

And I think a lot of Very Online folks mistake that for "normie" indifference

Australia's humpback whales are doing so well that their population is expected to reach carrying capacity and plateau in the near future--they have not just reached but exceeded pre-whaling numbers. For this to happen with such a long-lived, slow-reproducing species is near miraculous. #goodnews
These whales were hunted to 150 individuals. Now there are 50,000 of them
Once hunted almost to extinction, the population of humpback whales currently migrating down Australia's east coast has bounced back and is now greater than before whaling.

Story time as I make cake and dinner while playing Ghost of Yotei. We found an Easy-Bake oven for 15 bucks at a WallyHell we visited on the long trip back home from the airport. I always wanted one as a kid but dad would not allow me. Let me explain...
