You gotta hand it to Jim Varney for being able to make his face display an emotion that does not exist in nature
The poster for Ernest Goes to Jail (1990, John Cherry) I'm at a loss to describe the facial expression he's making. Technically it's a smile but that word carries with it an expectation of warmth that is nowhere to be found in this image. Every tooth in Jim Varney's head is on full display. I don't think I've ever seen a face this tense, even a corpse in rigor mortis is more relaxed than this. And yet his eyes are a million miles away. It's like he's being electrocuted but doesn't care.

Went to HomeGoods & really REALLY wanted to buy this. No discourse only Disco Horse.

This is Chicken. She helps shy puppies feel safe and comfortable at the shelter where her human works. When the staff noticed her unique ability to help shy pups feel confident, Chicken quickly found herself with a full-time job. After all, every mother hen is, in fact, a Chicken. 13/10

I have been trying, with little success, to encourage BlueSkyers to add ALT-Text to their photos and photo-memes. Using #ALTTEXT will increase your audience & followers. It also allows 1000+ characters & can be searchers

Perhaps being featured in the feed by @alttexthof.bsky.social will motivate!

Fishtopher, a brown and black striped tabby cat. He lays in the shelter next to a chrome bowl. His large head is hung low to the floor of the kennel, as he looks up with sad green eyes and very large, round cheeks. His ears are slightly down and his mouth looks small and almost like a frown. He protects his body with his round tail in a very sad, closed off manner. Fishtopher, a brown and black striped tabby cat, now in his forever home. He stands up and leans against the couch but the lower half of his body is blocked by the camera person's leg. He looks slightly upward with large, sparkling green eyes. His ears are pointed up and forward and his mouth is almost in a wide smile. His pink nose is a much brighter pink now, and his large cheeks are still large, but smaller in comparison.

Had a lovely trip to Orlando, FL where I visited the Lake Apopka Wildlife Drive. 11ish miles of great birding by car and on foot. At one point, two lifers strolled across the road right in front of my car. #birds

Two cats, Gyoza and Pierogi, sit under my desk. In front is Pierogi, a compact pale cat with grey luchador mask and grey-blue eyes, looking up at the camera. Crime? Him? Surely not, officer.
