I was looking up Tachibana's actor because he felt familiar to me and saw this tidbit.

What a move to just go "yeah, I'm changing my name. No it's not spelled any differently."

Alright, since it's the ninth anniversary of Yuri on Ice, I'll say it.

I think it's kinda screwed up everyone body shamed Yuri for the entire first few episodes. The guy needed to train for a competition, sure, but the guy was pulling off Olympic level performances on off-season

Monstrous.

"federal agents detained nearly every resident of the 130-unit building—including children and babies—placing them in zip ties and separating them by race into vans for more than two hours early Tuesday morning."

Hot take, perhaps - serial killer biopics suck. There's no one thing that defines these people and why they did what they did, and trying to find it is an egotistic exercise. I outgrew serial killer mythology in 9th grade. I suggest Hollywood do that too.

A psychology professor argues that young people, especially Gen Z-ers, are facing an “epidemic of perfectionism,” largely fuelled by social media.
The Pain of Perfectionism
It’s the fault people humblebrag about in job interviews, but psychologists are discovering more and more about the real harm it causes.

The Masque of the Red Death (1964, dir. Roger Corman) gives us, among many other delights, one of Vincent Price's great performances. As the red death kills off entire villages, the wicked Prospero and his dreadful guests party. A genuine sense of malevolent evil pervades. Gorgeous, still shocking.
